(A/N): Happy belated Halloween and Day of the dead. Enjoy your day with your loved ones :)

Heart pounds rapidly through your ears, palms sweaty, mouth dry, as you lock eyes with your father. You're speechless, frozen in place, staring at a ghost. He shoots you a pleasing smile. "Look how much you've bloomed since I last saw you." He steps forward as the click of his cane snaps you back to reality.

"Stop! Make no sudden movements." You warned. It's overwhelming to process the situation when you've avoided contact for ages only to come face to face with the man you wanted to evade. What part of 'I never want to see you again' did you not understand, old man?" Your blood begins to boil as you slowly recover from the fright.

Your father frowns, "I wanted to see my daughter. Is that so wrong?"

"Yes! Yes, it is." You snarled. "After decades of being shunned, you think you can waltz into my life and pretend that nothing ever happened?"

Your words stung like venom. The elder man knew he would be chewed out, but he had hoped it would be civil. You weren't going to give him the chance to speak with all the pent-up anger, that much is obvious. "What I did is inexcusable, but that doesn't mean I don't care."

"You have a funny way of showing it. After I left, you didn't bother to congratulate me or make a single phone call to check up on me. Even back then, it was all at your convenience while I wallowed in misery." You ranted.

"I'm sorry, puddi'n pop. I thought you needed space."

"Don't ever call me by that name." You growled as the cracks on your skin started to show, and your eyes glow a bloodlust red.

Your father gasps witnessing the effects straining your body. Conviction ensues, falling to his knees in despair. "You're getting worse. Dear Ai, what have I done? I have failed."

"As a father? Yes."

"Take it easy on him." You turn to MK neglecting his presence. "He's trying his best to communicate with you, and you're biting his head off." He said matter of fact. In a shocking revelation, the brunette drops his disguise and unveils himself to be Macaque.

You put two and two together. The reason your heart resonated with MK was for Macaque. Worst of all, the simian had lured you into a trap, forcing you to reunite with your pops. "You've been working with my father this whole time?" Your heart breaks into a million pieces after assuming it couldn't anymore. You've forgiven him in the past, but this is the ultimate betrayal.

He assists your father to his feet as if second nature. "Recently." He nonchalantly corrected.

"How is that any better? You-I-why?" You cannot fathom the scene unfolding. You are at your wit's end placing you in a vulnerable position to show your true colors. You begin to glow brighter than a firefly under the stress.

"Because Lixin knows who you are." Macaque stated. "He can help us understand why you have a defect if you would just hear him out."

"I have nothing to say to him." You glare at the man observing in silence.

"Ugh! Why are you so stubborn?" Macaque groaned.

"This is none of your business!" You exclaimed.

"It's my business when the most important person in my life could be dying." He retorted.

You calm down, taken aback by yet another confession. He cares so much about you that he's resorted to running straight to the man that raised you.

"I think we all need to cool our heads," Lixin commented.
