(A/N): Hey guys! This chapter is a bit out of whack. Mainly because I was stumped for a long time. Safe to say I am burnt out on LMK for the moment. I have 3 more or 2 chapters to go through but unfortunately, if I want to write properly I gotta stop right here. I'll probably come back to fix it. I'll let you know in the next chapter. Thanks for understanding. Until then! This will be on hiatus.

Macaque sat quietly at your bedside. Since saving you was his choice, he felt an obligation to watch over you while you rested and keep you safe from Peng. For hours he replayed his brothers' lecture.

As Yellow Tusk attended your wound, Macaque was pulled aside for a brief conference. As he approaches Azure asks, "How is the girl?"

"She's fine. Yellow Tusk managed to stop the bleeding in time."

Peng clicks their tongue, "Why should we keep a runt alive when she'll betray us once she awakens?"

"You don't know that."

"Neither do you." Peng retorted. "Awfully protective of a celestial envoy, Macaque." They grin condescending to the simian's stance on the matter.

"I am not. I'm just not a fan of tormenting the innocent without reason." The air between the brothers becomes intense.

"Enough." Azure sighed. "I understand we're all on edge. Right now we must discuss a plan on what we're going to do with the girl."

"I vote on disposing of them," Peng stated. "She is clearly a spy. She heard us talk about overthrowing the Jade Emperor."

"We shouldn't jump to conclusions," Macaque argued. "We don't have evidence on why she was lurking. Why not interrogate her?"

"It would be easier to get all the answers up front." Azure hummed.

"She could lie straight to our faces, brother."

Peng has a point. Your appearance has caused a predicament. Questions pondering in everyone's mind about what to do with you. If you lie, no one would know. There would need to be precautions should they allow you to leave.

"I have an idea!" Wukong chimed in. "Why not convince her to join our group?" Surprise all around that Wukong would even consider adding a stranger to the cause. "If the girl is an envoy, she would be useful in our fight. We can turn the tide with a spy on the inside, persuade the celestials against the Emperor."

"What a brilliant idea." Bull King praised.

"Reckless, but I quite like it," Peng admitted.

"What if she is not an envoy? What then?" Azure queried.

"Then we trust her. Killing is not part of the job description. If we want to prove we're the good guys who want to change the world, we can't go around slaying every suspect." Macaque stands firm on his ideals. He joined for Wukong, not the others. He looks to his brother pleadingly.

"Alright, I'm with Macaque. Who else wants to risk our chances?" There is hesitation in their choice, but Azure's bravery settles the decision. "Great! When the girl awakens, we'll question her. Whether she's bad news or not, we will treat her as our guest unless otherwise."

Macaque sighs in relief. Everyone is risking an opportunity for you, because of him. He felt responsible for you. Oddly, he's never stuck his neck out for anyone except Wukong. You happened to pique his interest. The way you reached out to him, he couldn't understand the need to reciprocate. He stares at your tranquil face, puzzled. How do you have an influence on him when he's never met you?
