Bio: Crested tapirs are large, herd-dwelling species of tapirs native to Exotic Island. They are descendants of few groups of mountain tapirs and South American tapirs that were brought to Exotic Island and hybridized with each other, forming a new species. They became larger than their ancestors due to the nuclear radiation. Their ancestors also managed to survive the nuclear radiation. They are larger than their ancestors, about the size of a white rhinoceros due to many predators around. They are found throughout the temperate forests, prairies, swamps, highlands, boreal forests, moorlands, scrublands, redwood forests, alpine meadows, taiga forests, temperate woodlands, temperate grasslands, steppes, bamboo forests, floodplains, lowlands, rocky mountains, boreal birch forests and alpine grasslands of Exotic Island. Unlike most tapirs, crested tapirs are social animals, living in large herds up to hundreds due to many predators around. They are sometimes known to join herds of other herbivores for protection against predators. They are preyed upon by many predators, including blue hyenas, predatory dinosaurs, groundhawks, saber-toothed lions, bone jackals, swamp dragons, etc.
