(y/n) was out of his mind one random day and he decided to k*dnap the whole universe family on a car road trip to another state.
it was actually going great, the gems were on the backseat having an interesting conversation about how hotdogs are made, Greg was in one of the middle seats with headphones on looking at the incredible view, lapis was on the other middle seat taking a DEEP nap, and peridot was on the trunk looking annoyed bcs she was short enough for it.
Steven was being super cute taking Polaroid pics of the road and snapping a few of our big family filling up the car seats.
the universe family stopped at a gas station to stretch their legs and eat a little something.
while (y/n) was refilling gas, he saw a pair of brochures and decided to take some.
"OKAY GUYS" (y/n) announced. "we're going to vote on where to go next, please look over these"
after everyone voted, they decided to js go to a lake nearby and camp out there.
after setting up the tent which took LITERAL HOURS because nobody (not even peridot the smartass) could figure it out.
after it got dark, (y/n) and Steven stayed outside of the tent and looked at the stars.
they sat in silence for a few, slow and enjoyable minutes, until Steven spoke.
"(y/n).."
"yea?" (y/n) replied looking at his bf.
"we have been dating for a while now" Steven said smiling to himself, but quickly developing a small blush "have you ever considered that, maybe one day it would be possible.."
Steven slightly touched (y/n)'s hand, grasping his ring finger.
(y/n) immediately understood what Steven was trying to say, and with an uncontrollable smile he hugged his bf.
"yes" (y/n) said while embracing his partner "when the right moment comes, I will be ready with a 'yes' "
both guys hugged each other for a while and went inside the tent to cuddle with each other.
after coming back home, the whole Universe family sat at the dinner table to eat and they couldn't stop talking about how awesome the trip was.
Steven and (y/n) looked at each other with a warm smile and held hands under the table. :)
