New Feelings and Re-opened Wounds

~Soarin POV~

"Well, let me ask you this, do you like me?" I asked her to see if we felt the same about each other.

She was silent for a brief moment until she said "I... I think so, but I don't know. "

"Hey, it's okay not to be able to understand how you feel", I said reassuring her.

"It is?"

"Yes, but let me ask you another question, what don't you know about how you feel?"

"I... I don't know, what if I express my feelings, then what will happen to our friendship."

I was surprised by her response. This is because even if I didn't feel the same way as she did we would remain very close, and our friendship wouldn't change. "Well, do you like me as your best friend or as more than your best friend?"

"I think that I could see you as more than a friend, but what does that mean for our current... mmph"

Before she could even finish her sentence I planted a passionate kiss on her lips. My patience had run thin, and I could no longer hold back my feelings, hearing those words leave her lips filled me with pure joy. I broke the kiss, and before she could speak I said, "I love you Dash, and nothing could change that. You are the only one I want to be with, and if you feel the same way, then maybe this may be the time to strengthen our relationship and become more than friends. So I ask you, would you be my girlfriend and allow us to see what the future has in store for us?"

"I... I'll give it a chance."

"Really?"

"Yes, maybe I'll be able to understand these feelings."

"Oh, Dash, you don't know how happy this makes me," I said, kissed her on her cheek, and then pulled her into a long hug.

~Parent's POV~

(A/N I am using the parents' names here and there, so if you are confused Cloudy Skies and Stormer T. Skies are Soain's parents, and Emerald Dash and Rainbow Blazer Dash are Rainbow's parents).

Unaware of their surroundings, their parent watched the new couple through the crack of their bedroom door. "Aww, they are so cute together", said Cloudy Skies. 

"I know, I am so happy for them", said Emerald.

"If I have to see them kiss one more time then I am going to throw up", said Soarin's father.

"Oh, don't be a buzzkill dear. We should be happy for them, this might make their future marriage easier", said Cloudy as she walked over to her husband.

"Whatev..."

However, before he could fully respond his phone began to ring. He took one look at the number and instantly declined the call. Cloudy caught a glimpse of the number and asked her husband, "Why didn't you answer the phone? It could have been something important."

"Well, it wasn't. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be in my study", and with that, he walked away.

"Well, let's go downstairs", said Rainbow's mother.

While going downstairs Emerald noticed tears starting to form in the corners of Cloudy's eyes. They sat down on the couch and she began to sob lightly. "Cloudy, what's wrong?"

"I feel that he's keeping secrets from me. He gets at least one phone call a day from that same number and never answers it around me but I'm sure that he answers it when he thinks that I'm not around. I just wish I knew who was on the other end of those phone calls", said Cloudy.

"Have you tried talking to him about or opening his phone while he's sleeping?"

"Yes, but every time that I try to talk to him about it he gets very upset and dismisses my questions. Plus, checking his phone isn't a possibility because he's changed his password recently and I wouldn't want to invade his privacy"
