Week 1

At lunchtime, Kokona and Saki magically appeared outside my classroom and rushed to my side just as Aso was trying to approach me. Within a blink of an eye, I was out of the classroom and sitting on a bench by the fountain with my bento box on my lap and the girls on either side of me.

"Gosh," Kokona said, "I can't believe you got placed in class 2-2 with three hot club presidents!"

"Yeah, me either!" Saki added. "Seriously, I'm so jealous."

I giggled. "Is it really that big of a deal?"

"Yes!" They both exclaimed.

"Okay, okay, so it is, then."

Kokona's energy dampened. "Oh, but I totally forgot... there are also four delinquents in that class, too. And one of them is the delinquent leader."

I hummed. That explains the three boys with facial scars. But I didn't see a fourth one...

Saki also became serious. "Yeah, you'll want to avoid them. They're pretty scary."

I shrugged. "I'm not scared, but I wasn't planning on talking to them anyway."

"Good. You shouldn't. I don't even want to tell you their names — just thinking of their names gives me shivers," Kokona said, and true to her word, she shivered. In an attempt to pick herself back up, she said, "But anyway! That brown-haired boy, with the green kerchief? That's Amao. And the purple-haired guy next to him was Kizano."

"Ah, I thought that's who they might've been," I replied. Though I wasn't sure about Kizano. Staring at Kokona's purple hair, I wondered if everyone in the drama club shared the same color. If so, then I wouldn't be joining that club if dying my hair was a condition to be a drama club member — no way was I throwing out my hair care routine to dye my hair; after all the effort I'd put into finding the perfect products, I didn't want to restart to find products that were color-friendly.

I decided it wouldn't hurt to ask at the very least, so I asked, "Umm, Kokona, by any chance does every drama club member have purple hair?"

"Hmm," she hummed. "Actually, yeah, they do, but I swear it's not a requirement to join the club. I quite like your brown hair."

"Thanks, haha. Maybe I'll have to give the drama club some consideration. Have you guys done anything yet?"

"No, not yet, since Kizano just returned to school last week after a family vacation, but he's pretty known for doing romances; it's kind of his thing. He wants to do another romance soon." She sighed dreamily. "I wonder who's gonna be his leading lady."

"Well, it won't be you," Saki remarked with a giggle. "But if you're lucky, you and Riku can be cast as a side couple in the background."

Kokona pouted before smiling. "You're right. Maybe this time he'll notice us as a couple instead of placing us on opposing sides," she added with a sigh.

Saki giggled again, then turned to me. "The last play we did was Cinderella. Kokona was one of the step-sisters, while her boyfriend, Riku, was the king."
