Week 2

(edit: originally I didn't have the "!!" TW on this chapter. took a while to notice but it's there now, so... !!TW!! for violence.)

Monday came quickly, and unlike most weeks where Friday felt far away, this particular Friday felt like it was rushing towards me like a train: audition day. I had to commit myself to audition for the part of Belle, and if I didn't get the part...

Well, I didn't even want to think of the rage that would fill my father to the brim.

On Saturday, I told my parents I was going out since Osorō insisted I buy myself a new foundation and concealer that matched my skin tone exactly. Later, we went to a cafe, where I tried it on and was extremely satisfied with the results, and a smirking Osorō mocked me by saying, "I told ya so."

He wore a mask the entire time we were out, just in case anyone from school noticed us. With the mask concealing his resting bitch face and the scar on his cheek, girls around us swooned, since his eyes and black outfit made him look like some sort of rock star.

Then, Sunday, I didn't want to be at home, so I left for Shisuta Town and wandered around until Osorō asked where I was. After sending him my location, he scolded me when he arrived and said something about letting him know when I went out so he could join me.

We decided to watch a movie together, but at first, it was difficult to come to an agreement since our tastes in movie genres didn't match up. Osorō didn't like romance, and I didn't like horror. We eventually found a middle ground in comedy, but when it turned out to be a rom-com, he demanded we see a horror movie after that movie ended to even it out. Reluctantly, I agreed — but at least he was kind enough to let me cling to his arm whenever I got scared.

It was an interesting compromise — something I liked in exchange for something he liked.

The thought made me giggle.

I opened my locker with a small smile. The new makeup Osorō helped me pick out was a small boost to my confidence, even with the throbbing pain in my cheek.

"Hey!" Aso called out to me as he approached. "How was your weekend? What did you do?"

"Good morning, Aso," I greeted. "I hung out with my friend the entire weekend. We went shopping on Saturday, and watched movies on Sunday."

"Oh, cool! It doesn't surprise me that a social butterfly like you would make friends so quickly," he added, winking. "So, who'd you spend the weekend with?"

"I spent it with—" I paused. Probably shouldn't tell him I spent the whole weekend with the leader of the delinquent gang... "—Kokona."

Just my luck, behind me, a voice answered, "Yes?"

I flinched and turned to face the purple-haired girl. Aso recognized her and said, "Kokona-chan, good morning! Athena was just telling me how you spent the weekend shopping and watching movies."

Kokona tilted her head. "But we—"

I flung my arm around her shoulder, instantly stopping her. "Yeah! Don't you remember? We went to the makeup shop and the cafe Saturday, and then we went to the theater on Sunday!"
