Sombra despised the sun, a constant reminder of his accomplished older brother, Antú, the Prince of Light. Unliked by his subjects due to his innate, unasked-for ability to control shadows, Sombra, consumed by jealousy, shrouded their palace in darkness. Antú, choosing dialogue over conflict, tried to reason with his brother, but Sombra's tainted heart led to a fateful battle, ending with Antú's victory and a promise to mend their bond.

Unable to bear the consequences and face his brother and citizens after the pain he caused to them, Sombra fled and found solace in Vucub, who helped him navigate internal struggles and fear of his own power. Without Antú's guidance, Sombra sought to make Vucub proud, as he couldn't achieve the same with his brother.

At least...that's what he thought he would do.

Lord Mictlan's arm bore the winding presence of snakes, silently revealing Maya's whereabouts and her impending actions. Lady Micte anxiously observed her husband, while Vucub discreetly prompted Sombra about the unsuccessful capture of Princess Maya and Lady Ximena. "What happened with capturing the Princess Maya and Lady Ximena?" This marked an unusual occurrence, as Sombra, known for his unwavering success in such tasks, returned to Lord Mictlan's palace without the intended captives.

In contemplation, he swallowed and uttered, "I...there were casualties, but I assure you, Vucub, I will capture Princess Maya and Lady Ximena." Sombra asserted confidently, though Vucub sensed there was more to the story. The glint in Sombra's eyes when he spoke of Maya conveyed a hidden truth. "What are your sentiments regarding Princess Maya?" Vucub inquired, probing for deeper insight.

Sombra's demeanor softened, and he cleared his throat. "Despite her arrogance, she's a remarkably skilled fighter. Maya is brave, loyal, and... intriguing," he expressed, a subtle smile gracing his face. The sentiment didn't go unnoticed. Clearing his throat, he returned to his neutral stance.

Conversely, Zatz, the prince of bats, animatedly spoke about Ximena. His eyes filled with hearts, cheeks blushing at the mere thought of her. "Lady Ximena, she's like a blazing sun, her courage radiates warmth that envelops everything around her. Her beauty is beyond words, and her soul is a flaming fire, fierce and captivating. It's as if the stars themselves reside in her eyes, sparkling like the night sky. She's a constellation of bravery and beauty that leaves you in awe," he sighed dreamily, his face reflecting admiration.

General Camazotz gasped, shielding his son. "Be quiet, mijo. He will hear you. You want Lord Mictlan to take your other eye if he hears you?" The General placed a protective hand on Zatz's shoulder. "Do not get attached, that would be very dangerous my boy."

"Zatz! Sombra !" The divine assembly parted, revealing the two young princes at the center. "Stand before me, prince of bats and prince of darkness." The duo approached, kneeling and bowing. "Yes, my lord," they responded in unison. Lord Mictlan's anger resonated as he demanded, "This is the last time I will ask you. Bring me the Teca Princess. Bring her now!" The imposing figure shouted, leaving the two princes to face the formidable task.
