Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart?

Why would you wanna take our love and tear it all apart?

Now, why would wanna make the very first scar?

Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart?

"How is she?" Ian asked Julianne for the nth time.

"I told you I'd be lying if I'd say she's okay. Quite frankly, you're the one to blame." Julianne deadpanned.

"I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you should be." She snapped. "I thought you were better than that Ian! We trusted you! You know how important you are to my sister. Plus, you promised her that you'd come. Then you'd choose that bitch over my sister? Just like that? You really are an asshole!" She couldn't control her anger anymore.

After Nina's debut, the poor girl cried the whole night. The next morning, she never went out of her room. She just stayed there and talked to no one. Nor did she let any single soul enter her room – not even her parents or sister.

And Julianne put all the blame on Ian.

"I told you she needed me because she was sick. Second, 'that bitch' just happened to be my girlfriend."

"Right. Well then, screw you and that bitch!"

"I really tried to leave before her parents arrived." He began to look really miserable. He wasn't even looking at her anymore. He was looking at the ground. "It's just that... she won't let me. I really wanted to be there at Nina's party. I had to choose whether to attend to my bestfriend's debut or to take care of my sick girlfriend."

"And you chose her over my sister." Julianne looked sternly at him.

"Because Nina is a good person. I knew she'll understand."

"I hope she does."

Nina was lying on her bed. She has been in that position for who-knows-how-long. She has not been asleep for three days. She has not eaten nor went out of her room for about a week now.

She couldn't understand why she was feeling this way. Yes, of course it was because she's in love with her goddamned bestfriend. But ain't love ought to be full of hearts and roses? Love ain't supposed to be like this. She does not deserve this just because she is in love.

She took a deep breath.

The best Christmas present ever! She thought bitterly. If Santa was real, she would have wished for their happy ending. God knows she did every single thing just to make him fall for her too. She has always been his bestest friend. She had wished upon every freaking falling star for so many times already. She had dropped hundred of coins in the wishing well. She had prayed every effin night. But it was all in vain. Somebody else still got what she has been yearning for so long. And now here she is, in her bloody cage.

She was brought out of her reverie when she heard a thud. It was soon gone. What she saw afterwards was something that was on the bottom of her want-to-see list. It was Ian.

She looked up at him but didn't say a word.

Who the hell let him in? She cursed.

"Hi." He nervously spoke.
