A Mage: a "witch"; descending from evolved humans that made their way from the human realm to the demon realm; they have everything a normal witch does, except their ears are not as sharp as a demon-realm witch's (to help your mental visualization, think of Belos's ear shape as he's "technically" human).

As you can see from above, Mages are witches with very human-like appearances, as humans are their distant ancestors. They have very round human ears except for the tips of their ears being rounded tips. However, with witches (i.e., a mage minus human ancestors). The hunter sketch is what we see throughout The Owl House (edged earlobe for males and rounded earlobe for females).
