Omega

Chapter 20

Moo Won smiled at the three inseparable friends. It wasn't unusual for them to all be in the same group, even though most of the time some other people were in there as well, but this time it was just them alone.

He got a little closer to them, the smile sliding off his face when he heard Ba Reum make a weird noise and make an aborted movement towards Moo Won, but Chi Kook grabbed his underarm, holding him back.

"Uhm, so, is everything alright?" the priest asked again, this time a bit more unsure.

"Yeah, everything is fine," Dong Koo said with a smile moving a little, and Moo Won was quite sure that he put himself purposely in front of Ba Reum, who had a weird look on his face.

"That's nice," Moo Won said, trying to look past Dong Koo because he did feel slightly worried all of the sudden for Ba Reum, but Dong Koo moved a little to block his path.

Moo Won knew Ba Reum as an even-tempered base, always in a good mood and smiling at everyone and being the first one to help out, but the way he and his friend were behaving was making Moo Won think that he had interrupted an argument of some sorts, or something alike.

"And you Ba Reum? Everything okay?" he asked, sidestepping Dong Koo who bit his lip, but who didn't dare to block him for fear of bumping into the priest.

That was the positive side of his handicap. Most people didn't dare to physically block him in fear of hurting him, and it made it easy to slip past people, that and his harmless smile, which made it feel as if he never had any malicious intent.

Now that he faced Ba Reum, he could see the look on the man's face, and he could also smell the scent that had previously been too low key for a base to really place. It was very unexpected to scent the sweet omega pheromones coming from Ba Reum and his first thought was that the man had found himself a pack.

Perhaps that had been the cause of the trouble here. One of the three friends breaking away and finding a pack of his own and leaving the other two behind. He knew that Chi Kook had expressed his desire to be together in a pack before, but Ba Reum had always held it at bay.

"We're okay," Chi Kook said, still holding onto Ba Reum, making Moo Won frown. He opened his mouth the talk directly to Ba Reum, but before he could say anything Ba Reum broke free from the hold, and the priest nearly fell over when the man pressed himself close to him, his nose pressed close to Moo Won's scent gland and making small whimpering sounds.

"What's going on?" the alpha from the group next to them asked, probably alarmed by the sudden increased scent of omega, which was coming from Ba Reum. But it didn't make sense. Why would the scent of an omega increase like that, unless...unless there was an omega near.

Moo Won's eyes widened in shock when realisation hit him, just at the same moment that Chi Kook let out a growl and went to stand in between Ba Reum and the approaching alpha.

"Hey, what gives?" the man asked, standing tall and the aggressive scent was wafting over, making Ba Reum suddenly grip him tighter, almost painfully so and the sweet scent got an overlying layer.

"Oh god, alphas," Dong Koo said exasperated, "why don't the two of you go stand a bit further, so that your pheromones don't disturb the atmosphere here,"

"But the omega?" the other alpha said, probably scenting the fact that Ba Reum was suddenly afraid.

"Don't worry, let us handle it," Dong Koo said, "the last thing we need is overprotective alphas,"

"He's right," Chi Kook said, looking chagrined, but grabbing the alpha and pulling him away, giving Dong Koo a look and a glance towards Ba Reum.

"Hey, wait, the omega, isn't that Ba Reum?" the man asked looking behind him and trying to sniff the air while Chi Kook was dragging him away.
