"Is he annoying you again?" She asked, "Yes, and no he's just saying nonsense." I said hoping to end the conversation with Josie "Boys are ridiculous that's why I need a man" she said while crossing her arms.

THIRD-PERSON POINT OF VIEW
Billy Andrews was talking to Y/n about his love for her, Y/n didn't think the young boy mean it considering he's not his type after all. Josie then came up and include herself in the conversation and told billy to go away. While this is happening another guy was watching them, Gilbert Blythe. Who is I would say jealous that Billy was talking with Y/n...

The poor boy didn't know what to do with his feelings and decided to ignore Y/n. He is confused about whether the feelings are true or not.

After talking with Josie we went to put our milk down the cold water outside the classroom where all the bottles are located to keep it cold.

"Set your milk down next to mine, y/n, so it'll stay cold," said Diana "Alright," I said putting my milk down next to Diana while I was putting my drink billy then touches my bottom while running with the boys, I got shocked and went up to him.

"Don't ever touch me again," I said then I throw my glass of milk at him causing it to break no one is harmed but I couldn't just let him do that. "quel manque de respect!" ( what a lack of respect ) I added and went inside leaving them outside.

"Y/n, are you alright?" Diana asked "Yes" I simply said with a slight smile "when you left I approach him and told him to apologize," Anne said worriedly "thank you" I hugged her and she started to talk random things that makes me and Diana laugh

After the incident, Mr.Phillips had arrive and started teaching...

"whoops," Blythe said quietly throwing paper at me trying to get my attention "Hey...Frenchie," he then pulled my hair "I'm not talking to you!" I shouted and slapped him with the slate I looked at it and it broke. "You just did," he said with a smirk and went to his sit quietly

"Verlise! Get up here! Now! What a vicious display!" said Mr.Phillips "Is this what they taught you in France? Unacceptable!" he then writes something on the word while reading it out loud "Y/n Verlise has a very bad temper." Now, stand here and stay put. And the rest of you, pipe down!! Let this serve as a lesson to you that we do not tolerate such displays of temper here in a civilized society." I just rolled my eyes at him and did stand up from my seat to go in front

"It was my fault, sir. I, uh, I-I teased her," gilbert explained while looking at me "Quiet, Blythe. That is hardly an excuse." said Mr.Phillips, "Quiet, all of you, and return to your lesson." he said before returning to write on the board "Thirty minus six divided by three equals..." he said reading out loud what's written on the board.

"Where do you think you're going? Get back here!" "Verlise! Get back here. Verlise!" Mr.Phillips shouted as I was walking out of the room. I've had enough of the day I am mad at everyone for the way they treat me, I'm not going back to this school I thought to myself

maybe Avonlea is not a fit for me, I'd rather go back to France. I miss my friends, my father, my mother, and my aunt I thought to myself. I got lost in my thoughts while walking home that I didn't even notice that I was near my home. When I reached home I then closed the door so hard, I went up to my room and cried.

"Oh how I wish you were here right now Mother, I wish you didn't leave me," I said letting out tears "tu me manques papa mama" ( i miss you mama papa ) was the last word that came out of my mouth and drifted to sleep without having supper.

I woke up in the middle of the night to Diana rushing inside my room asking me for help. "Help me! Can you help me? Y/n!" she shouted "Diana?" I said still sleepy "Minnie May, she's sick! We need to wake Miss Verlise," she said running out of breath "My mother is not here she went back to France," I said, "What's wrong with Minnie May?" I stood up in a rush. "I don't know. She's choking and coughing, and it's horrible!" she said "Croup" I quickly said and rushed outside with Diana "We need the doctor!" she shouted and went to Anne's house next hill, "I'll go accompany her and see what I can do, you go," I said

At Barry's house, I went inside and then saw Minnie may coughing with Aunt Josephine.

"Lean her over. Make sure she's right above the steam. We have to loosen the phlegm that's choking her." "We've used almost all the ipecac. There's only one more dose. I want to get by with steam and night air until we're forced to use it." I told aunt Josephine, Anne and Diana had arrived. Anne went to check Minnie may's temperature "She's burning up," she said I then explain what the problem was and that she has croup.

"Let's lift her to the window. Breathing cold air will help," said Anne I quickly do what she said "What on earth do you think you're doing?! Do you wish her to freeze to death as well?!" said Aunt Josephine "Cold air is a doctor's best friend when it comes to treating croup." I stated "You are not a doctor! I do not condone this!" she replied "I know what I'm doing. Sorry. If you could please stay out of the way..." said Anne "Well! dear God please save this child." she said worriedly "It's all right, Minnie May. Do you see the moon? Oh, isn't she lovely? She's watching over you." Anne said comforting Diana's sister who is coughing so hard.

"I wish you had some peppermint or eucalyptus so I could make a plaster. I'll fetch an onion. Pardon me." I said and went to get an onion. "How much longer will it be before that blasted doctor comes?! Oh, I hate the country," said Aunt Josephine who is now getting impatient "Pardon! Cela aiderait vraiment si vous pouviez rester à l'écart !" ( Sorry! It really would help if you could keep it out of the way!) I told Aunt Josephine "What would help would be a medical professional." she said, "I expect they'll be another hour or two if they come at all." I told her while cutting the onion "Why do you say that?" she asked, "Almost everyone went to Charlottetown to see the premier." said Anne "That is precisely why I left." she replied "Next you'll be brewing eye of newt in a cauldron." she added

"Raw onion on the soles of the feet helps bring a fever down. You haven't ever heard of that?" I asked her "Why would I have?" she said raising her eyebrows "because it's an old wives' tale." "might be one, but not the other. One doesn't have to be either thing to know it." she answered "True enough. In any case, I believe it works, and I'm not above a desperate measure or two." Anne said

I then put the onion inside Minnie May's socks, she is still not feeling any better and now is choking. "Anne! Anne! Anne!" Diana shouted "Bring her over to the table! Hurry!" said Anne preparing the table. "Roll her onto her belly. Hold her feet. Come on, Minnie May, cough! Cough, Minnie May! Cough!" I told her which Diana did so "She's slipping!" Diana said with fear in her voice "Miss Barry! Come on, Minnie May! Come on! Cough, Minnie May! Cough!" Anne said, "Please, please!" Diana begged after a minute Minnie May coughed and can breathe again "That's good. That's very good." I told her while cupping her face "Oh, thank God." said in relief "Merciful Lord." Aunt Josephine said with calmness in her voice. "I believe the worst is over," I said "Let's get her to bed." "I believe in need a brandy," said Aunt Josephine
