CHAPTER 6: AFTERMATH

By the time Renée woke up, the kids were already at school,
Rose petals trailed from the bedroom door, all the way towards the pool.
She didnt bother to follow; instead she went and took a shower,
Outside awaited breakfast and 15 bouquets of flowers.

As she insulted him by pulling out from her purse, a protein bar.

Renée exclaimed

"I just didn't see this coming."
Michelle replied

"He's a lying, cheating, egotistical prick!" Renée added

"Sis, its okay, just let it out."
Michelle stated

"Where did I go wrong?"
Renée cried

Renée began to cry
in her sister's arms

"Don't be, you became so focused on
saving me, that you didn't realize
that you needed help"

"I'm almost able to cover the costs of your initial treatments, if I borrow a loan coupled with the amount I've been saving with this promotion bonus,
I should be able to-"
Renée replied

"Renée, Stop!! You'll be in debt for months, let's say you do pay off the initial payments, what about the second and the third, I can't allow you to do that sis. I won't allow it. Use it to pay your mortgage and pay your bills." Michelle added

"Sis-"
Renée responded

"I'll be fine, now head off to work, can't have you being late again"
Michelle interjected.

"I'll check in tomorrow."
Renée replied

"I'll be here, now go"
Michelle added

Stepping out of that room, she felt she would die, She hardly could hold back the tears as he tried not to cry. She felt two arms came around her as she broke down in tears, Uncertain of whose shoulders, she no longer cares. 5 minutes had passed, and she was still in the hall, The two arms comforted her, however small. She dried her tears and lifted up her head, But was surprised to see who it was, when the voice said-

"Are you Okay?"
The voice asked

"Brandon!!!"
Renée exclaimed as
she quickly gets up from the ground

"I'm sorry, this is so embarrassing"
Renée added

"Miss Peddleton, it's fine, you don't need to apologize for opening up and letting all that's under that smile out"
Brandon replied as
he wiped the
tears from her eyes

"You don't know anything about me"
Renée added

"No, I don't but you wanna know what I do know; You're not fine, and you come in here every day pouring your heart out, trying your very best to save your sister, and judging from the hasty departures; you have to balance work as well, and it frustrating. The burden you carry is one you shouldn't have to be carrying all alone, but you do. When was the last time you had a good night rest, went out to enjoy yourself knowing that you deserved it?"
