'Fed a False Concept' was the first YouTube upload from TheGarageJump. The sequence will be lyrics, then notes, then slogans. I tried to include the hyperlink to the song, though wasn't able to. You can find a link to TheGarageJump YouTube channel on my Wattpad profile page. I hope that you enjoy the journey.

Fed a False concept

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Got so big I got a lookalike. Feel uptight, yet to find out why. Thought this happened to the other guy.

I'd like to be anonymous. I'd like to be a little bit free. I am all the things that you say I am and some that you can't see.

Culture of celebrity. There for you to chase. Controlled through television. Controlled by cyberspace.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Here he comes with his entourage.24/7 arbitrage. Surrounded by decolletage.

I'd like a place in Malibu. Imaged by the pool. Lose it all and your hangers on. Multinational cool.

Distortion of reality. All an improvision. Controlled through corporations. Controlled by supervision.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie.

Dig the new philosophy. Misled into sophistry. Then find its policy.

Gardening leave beckons. Won't embrace the change. Unwelcome negativity. Roses to arrange.

Controlled though mediocrity. Controlled by what's acceptable. Vehicle of advancement that's what makes it contemptible.

Speak out find that you are moved. Application not approved. All dissenters are removed. Not my lot to be improved.

Controlled by how you live and where you're born. Your payment changed. The price is from.

Controlled by selection. Just cant make the team. Controlled by those who commentate. Want to know what I could have been.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Found living on the underside. Strange behaviour by the waterside. My world and yours collide.

Politically anxious, maybe just don't have a clue. I'd like to not be shut down. Hear another point of view.

Modify my life. Change of my location. Controlled through speculation. Controlled by Isolation.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Show a bit of latitude. Global inexactitude. Need digital gratitude.

Deal signed in a helicopter. Bit of stealth. Greeny wanted to donate his share. Be nice to split the wealth.

Controlled through consumerism. Controlled by advertising. Embedded marketing on Mr Mojo Risin.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Kept down one too many times. Brain's been busy working overtime. Crossing six one and four nine.

Can't even sing my blues. The legend hails the devil. I plan to say a prayer tonight to make that concept level.

Gifts for when I die. Monies I can't spend. Not so unexpected that I can't control the end.

                                                                                 NOTES

Right. The first thing I realised when embarking on the 'creative' route was that I would never receive feedback which read along the lines of 'This has changed my life. I am going to put a stop to my own creative endeavours as you have so much more talent than I. From here on in, I will get behind your work and encourage others to do the same. At every opportunity'.

By posting the lyrics I initially thought to myself 'There's plenty there if people want to analyse these lyrics'. Pretty soon I had a moment of clarity which was that there was a pretty slim chance that a visitor/viewer/appreciator would have the thought process of 'What I really need in my day is a lyric analysis of this punter who I have never heard of before'. For a high percentage of people I reckon, getting around to analysing song lyrics doesn't happen - they are just some words to match the tune. Through recent times, consider some of the words we sing along with, without giving it a second thought. Plenty of examples to delve into.....

Anyhow, to 'Fed a False Concept'. I had written that line a couple of months before...and liked it. The tune was the second one sent by GB with a view to me coming up with some lyrics. The music was all there, great job. Electric blues, seven verses - that's as technical as I get.... Very resource intensive lyrics-wise. I only have so many words to share...and this was eating into them....I covered five verses. It's the blues, right?....and about eight months later....I know...I added the other two - The 'Speak out find that you are moved...' part.

Brilliant music, powerful lyric - seemed a natural choice for the first upload...which I hadn't even considered a couple of months earlier.....

SLOGANS

A couple - 'I am all the things that you say I am and some that you can't see' . 'Need digital gratitude'....and I like the line 'crossing 61 and 49' - see 'Cross Road Blues' by Robert Johnson for reference. There is also a more famous version of the song by Cream....apologies if you already know all that.

Thanks for reading this. All comments welcome.
