"Deku, were you in any clubs when you were my age?" Eri asked as she sat on the couch with Izuku who had a cast around his leg. He was supposed to stay in his room, but he got bored and came down stairs (don't worry, he used the elevator) to watch T.V. with his friends. Too bad most of them were busy with either work studies, homework, or just had prior engagements. Eri, who had just finished her own homework, sat on the couch next to him when she saw how lonely he was. And, of course, she thought that hearing what he used to do could help her make up her mind about which club to join.
"Not really..." The older boy answered. "I tried out for a few, but I wasn't really well liked back at elementary school, so I was rejected. After a while, I just kinda gave up."
"How come you weren't liked? I think you're great."
"Well... Uh..." He looked at the younger girl who was staring at him with curiosity. He knew that couldn't tell her it was because he was quirkless, but what other reason would a whole school discriminate against him for? "Um... Well... Let's just say that I wasn't exactly a normal kid."
Eri tilted her head to the side.
"It's complicated... Anyway, I did try, at least. Like... um... Oh, the All Might Fan Club in middle school, but they didn't want me to 'ruin their image', as they put it."
"Why? Was it because you're too big a fan? I've seen your room, so I'd understand."
"No, that wasn't- Why are you asking me this?"
"Oh... Um... I was wondering what club I should join."
"You told me you didn't want to join any clubs this year."
"I know, but Babu-chan convinced me to look at the club board thingy, and there were two clubs I really liked. But I can only join one."
Izuku let out a small laugh. "Well, it's your decision. Just know that being in a club means putting in a lot of hard work and effort. But they can be really fun too, and you get to make new friends. Which clubs were you interested in?"
"Um... The dancing and band clubs."
The older boy remembered the festival and how it got Eri to smile again. Of course she'd be interested in clubs that were similar to their performance. "Both are a great choice. But, since you can only join one, I suggest you go to both club rooms and ask if they have any pamphlets. That way you can read them over in your spare time and take your time deciding. If not, just talk to the club leaders. Who knows, they may even let you sit in on a meeting."
Eri nodded and hugged Midoriya. "Thank you."

"That's what Deku told me," The blue-gray haired girl told her two friends as they walked down the hall to the club rooms. It was after school and she knew Mirio was waiting for her, but she wanted to check out what the two clubs had to offer.
"That makes sense," Yuri commented. "I did the same when I wanted to join both the sewing and the robotics clubs."
"I've always been into sweets, so choosing the cooking club was a no-brainer for me," Baburu stated with a sigh. She wished she had more advice to give her friend, but the choice was so easy for her. "But, don't sweat it, if you chose one and don't like it, you can always quit and join the other one. So, it's not such a big deal."
"Like you friend said, some clubs will let you sit in on club meetings and participate. You can always ask to test them out for a bit and then choose after."
