That Fateful Day 💙

Hey, the name's Aranai Rou, 16 years old, average student with could be better grades, no friends and an attitude.
Not that I mind not having friends, people are usually more of a bother to me than anything plus, not a lot of people tolerate my 'whatever I think I say' mindset very well.

Yeah, my life is pretty normal- Except for the fact that there are giant TURTLE MEN sitting on MY couch in MY livingroom about to be lectured by me.

Anger fills every inch of my body, mainly at the one in blue who came crashing in first as I point to my broken window, TV AND my precious PS4.
Pretty sure a vein is about ready to pop on my forehead any second now.
My forced smile twitches with every word that leaves my mouth in a hiss.

"I couldn't care less WHAT you are OR what you were doing...," I pinch at my nosebridge in frustration. "but my PS4 DID NOT deserve that!" The four turtles shrink in on themselves when I raise my voice, even though I am mostly yelling at the one with the blue mask.
The vein on my forehead seems to pulse heavier and I grind my teeth to keep the bubbling insults down, I tend to curse very openly.
Honestly, I would be ogling them shamelessly any other day and under any other circumstance but right now I'm mourning my poor device too much.
I take a deep breath.

"Um.." I look up to see the one in orange fiddle with his hands nervously with a guilty expression that makes ME feel guilty somehow.
The rest of the bunch eye him when he speaks up.
"We're really sorry..." He hangs his head shamefully.
This has to be some sort of tactic because I suddenly find it very hard to be angry, like, look at that face... Damn it.
I've barely known him for what, 10 minutes? And I already developed a soft spot.

"It's fine." I let out a heavy sigh in hopes of getting rid of most of the pent up frustration through it.
The orange one raises his puppy eyes to look into mine and my heart squeezes with guilt.
Why am I the one feeling so guilty?!
They're the ones who destroyed my stuff! God flippity damn it...!

I walk over to him and place a hand on his head, he slightly flinches at the unexpected contact.
"Stop looking so sad, I said it's okay." My voice is more stern than I mean for it to be. "More importantly, are you guys alright? Your fall wasn't exactly the most graceful.." I wince at my own words, the one in blue snickers cockily.

"Why yes, we are tougher than we look." His eyes are half lidded as he shoots me a confident smirk.
I cock an eyebrow at him. "I'm sure you are, my overconfident 'I think I'm all that' fellow."
The turtle gasps in offense and his eyes nearly bulge right out of their sockets. The one in purple sitting next to him makes no attempt to stiffle his amused snort.

"What is that supposed to mean?" The turtle in blue shoots up from his spot.
I think I just felt my eyebrow raise higher. "It means, it took me exactly one sentence out of your mouth to know that you think you're a real hotshot." An award-winning smirk spreads across my face and the artificial-shelled turtle bursts out laughing. "Oh she figured you out in 5 seconds, Leo!" He cackles.
'Leo', glares at him.

As the two begin to bicker I unconsciously start stroking the orange one's head.
He seems to lean into my touch. "Your hand is really warm," He muses, bringing a chuckle out of me. "Yeah?" Our eyes meet for a moment before he closes his and hums in content.
This guy is totally like the little brother I never knew I wish I had.

Can I just like, keep him?

"Alright, if you two would stop barking at each other like mad dogs now," (pun intended) I pull the hand back I've been petting the turtle with, he whines at the loss of my warmth and I chuckle again.
Then I turn to purple and blue, raising my other hand with a medkit in it. "I'd like to patch you guys up and send you on your merry way." I snap the box open as I say in a sing-song voice.
Since orange is the closest I start with him.
