The next morning I woke up at 8am. I put on some tights, a black miniskirt and a blue and green striped sweater on top. I packed all my documents in a bag as well as my wallet and other essential things I might need. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth only to almost walk into Hayden who was just leaving the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waste. What a great start to my morning. I couldn't help myself. I looked him up and down. The water was still dripping down his chest to his low V onto the towel. That man is criminally good looking.
"Morning." he mumbled while pushing past me towards his room.
"Morning." I replied quietly while walking into the bathroom.
My cheeks were still flushed when I closed the door behind me. The first thing I noticed in the bathroom was the scent. Everything smelt like him. Damn did he smell nice. I tried to ignore it and went to brush my teeth. When I was all ready to go I put on my loafers and walked downstairs. Jackson was sitting in the kitchen eating some sort of cereal and scrolling through his phone.
"I'm leaving now. I don't know when I'll be back." I told him.
"So early? No breakfast?" he asked.
"I'll get something on the way. And it's almost 9am. Wish me luck!" I was already on my way out.
"You don't need luck. They're going to love you." that was the last thing I heard before walking out the door.
I walked to the bus station. My first interview was at a cafe in Manhattan. I didn't have to wait long. I listened to some music on the way thinking of what to say. The first interview didn't go so well. The owner seemed more interested in my legs than in what I have to say. The next Interview was at a diner near by but that also didn't seem promising after I noticed three hairs in the soup when I was given a tour through the kitchen. Interview 4 and 5 were also dead ends. I somehow thought it would be easier to find a decent job. But apparently not. My last Interview for the day was at a bookstore downtown. When I got there they informed me that they had already filled the position and were very sorry that they forgot to inform me about it. After 6 flukes interviews I was tired and not motivated to try anymore today. I decided to go home when I realised that I don't have a key yet. Jackson and Hayden must be at work now. It's 4pm so I don't think they'll be back for at least another hour or two. I decided to call Jackson. It didn't take long for him to pick up.
"What's up Kaya? Landed a job?" he asked.
"No. Not yet. I just wanted to go home but I realised that I don't have a key." I explained.
"Oh shit. I totally forgot about that. Where are you right now?"
"Downtown near Fort Greene Park." I said.
"Okay that's not far from the office. I'll send you the address. You can just come over and I'll give you mine for now."
He sent me the address and hung up. I took the subway there and it really didn't take long. When I stood in front of the building I double checked the address but I was at the right place. The office was a huge building. Must've been more than 30 floors high. The building was from top to bottom surrounded by large floor to ceiling windows. I entered the building and was greeted by a very grand lobby. There was a reception desk in the middle with a nice looking older woman sitting behind it. I walked closer to her.
"Do you know where I would find Jackson Mayfield? I'm his sister, he knows I'm coming." I explained.
"Let me just check..." she typed something into her computer and made a very short call. "Mr. Mayfield is currently in a meeting with Mr. Ledger. It could be a while."
Great. I was not keen on waiting for him just to give me a key for idk how long here.
"Is Hayden..." I just realised that I didn't even know Hayden's last name. "...I mean the CEO, is he currently available. I won't be long."
