God loves a cheerful giver as we always hear.
But, are you one?
It is God's command. In one of my favorite verses,
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.
Test me in this, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour
out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
But, are we going to give to God because we are expecting HIM to give back in return of our deed? No. We should give, only because it is HIS command, and not any other reasons (According to Pastor Agliams' preaching today, November 6, 2022 at La Filipina Evangelical Church ) which I very much agreed.
Now, check this verse also.
Proverbs 3:9
Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to overflowing;
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
So, are we not still swayed by this verse? We are assured of this. It is God, himself, who told this to us. It is a promised. A very wonderful promised.
Then, we should give. Give freely. Give with willingness.
Give happily, as our Almighty will also be happy because we simply are following HIS commands and HE will be very pleased of our doing.
