Kallen's POV:

"Hmm, where do I go...?" Kallen muttered to herself as she explored the neighbouring town.

She was tasked by Sakura to go to the land of gold, Zipangu, to buy some brioches for her. "Saku-chan really loves brioches... Stop, Kallen! You can't call her that even if she's not here right now."

Kallen slightly slapped herself to get rid of those thoughts and psyche herself to fulfil Sakura's wishes. Kallen looked around frantically at signs and unfortunately is unable to find her way. "Why am I still this bad with directions... I have to familiarise myself with my surroundings if her highness asks me to run these types of errands again..."

Suddenly, Kallen felt a light tug at her sleeve. She looked down and turns out it was a small girl with beautiful long blonde hair. She asked, "Big sister, are you okay~? You look really lost... I can try to help you!"

Kallen stared at the small girl for a while and was reluctant whether to ask her for directions. "To be asking a child for directions... Fine, I will ask her for the sake of her highness but, I'm really being a burden right now. I should be helping her instead."

Kallen took a deep breathe and decided to ask the girl for directions, "Yes, I do need help. I'm sorry to take your time but do you know where I can buy brioches?"

The girl's eyes lit up as she squealed, "I love brioches! My father used to bring me to this one place! Follow me!" The blonde hair girl grabbed Kallen's hard and started running.

"Careful! Please don't trip!" Kallen called out as she was dragged.

They finally reached the place and entered the shop, Kallen's eyes shined at the sight of the different pastries, "There's so many types...! Her highness should visit this place one day."

Kallen picked out a few brioches as per Sakura's request and then turned to the girl, "What do you want, I'll buy you anything."

The girl's eyes widened and she waved her hands, "No, it's fine! I'm glad you were able to get your brioches!"

"Please, I must repay you for helping me. I want to help you too."

The girl's shoulders dropped, "You want to help me...? Then... Wait, sorry never mind! You don't need to repay me, I helped you cause I wanted to help you!"

Kallen was shocked at the girl's words, "What a good girl..." Kallen thought.

"Don't worry about it. I want to help you because I want to help you too. Now, what's your request?" Kallen probed.

The girl's fingers ran through her blonde hair nervously and she finally spoke, "Please... Lend me money to by my father's medicine. He's really sick but we don't have enough money to buy the medicine..."

Kallen's eyes deepened, after paying for the pastries, she took the girl's hand and brought her outside the bakery. There was a bench right outside the bakery and they sat together. "If you're okay with me asking, what's wrong with your father?"

"He... He has a terminal illness. He doesn't have long to live but I want to prolong it for as long as it can go. He's the only person I have left. My mother died a long time ago so, if he goes too... I'll be all alone..." The girl's blue eyes welled up with tears as she shook violently.

Kallen took the girl's shaking hands and comforted, "I'm sorry for that. I was in a similar situation when I was your age. I never knew my parents but all I knew was that they both died from a fatal disease. But, actually, what's your name?"

"Durandal but you can call me Dudu."

Kallen nodded as she brought out a bag of money, "Okay, then Dudu. My name is Kallen. Here you go, you don't have to repay me as you've already helped me so much. I hope your father gets to live longer, no. I want him to live a long life. I hope this helps. I would accompany you to buy the medicine and visit your father but I'm afraid I have a very impatient lady waiting for me."

Durandal's cupped her shocked expression with her hands and hugged Kallen, "Thank you so much, Kallen-chan! I will make sure he'll get better with this money! Please visit me again one day!"

Kallen gave a soft smile, "It's a promise, in the meantime, take care."

Durandal beamed as she saw Kallen's figure disappear as she walked further away.
