Four years had passed since that terrible wound had been inflicted on Paris. Chat Noir had become the troublesome villain of Paris, everyone knew. Everyone had their opinions. Some believed he was evil the whole time. Some believed it was all an act to spy on ShadowMoth and defeat him. Some believed he was misunderstood. Some believed he had been akumatized. Others believed he was a hero deep down. A hero lost in a storm of chaos and manipulation. Ladybug liked that theory. It allowed her to have the mindset that her partner is still there, still with her, but trapped under the evil ShadowMoth inflicts on him.

She likes that theory because it eases her mind when she has to fight him. She's fighting to bring him back - to save him. Because she's a superhero. And superheroes save people. Sometimes, from themselves. So when Chat Noir shows up at the Eiffel Tower, she reminds herself that she's fighting to bring him back.

"Evening, Chaton. Lovely weather we're having, right?" Ladybug asked, her eyes peeled on the city of Paris, lights turning on as the sun began to set.
"Mhm," the villain hummed, standing beside her.
"So, how are we doing this?" Ladybug asked, a sad sigh escaping her lips as she admired the beauty of her home. She hated the Eiffel Tower, but she couldn't deny the wondrous view that it provided.
"You're gonna hand me your miraculous," he whispered in her ear, and that was when he noticed how close he was to her. "And then I'm gonna walk away."
"You say that every time, Chaton. I'm starting to believe you don't want my miraculous," she whispered, turning to face him.

He towered over her by a few inches. His hair had grown and he'd styled it, but kept it messy. His green eyes were rather cold than warm now, they pierced through her soul. His skin was slightly tan, but that's to be expected leaving the summer season behind.
Ladybug blushed, but kept it hidden behind her mask. "I'd like to take your miraculous for a spin," she said, her fingers trailing up his arms. He kept his cold gaze on her, causing her to shiver. Her fingers found their way to his chin and they lingered there for a moment.

"What do you say, kitty? Hand me your miraculous?" she asked, innocently pouting and batting her eyes. He scoffed before reaching for his baton. She quickly stopped him by punching him in the nose, sending him backwards slightly. He gripped his baton and extended it so he could easily strike her if he wanted. She grabbed her yoyo and swung it enough that it could be used as a shield.

"Must it always end this way, mon Chaton?" she asked, a small smile tugging at her lips. The villain didn't seem impressed, but he did seem amused.
"You tell me, m'lady," he said with a grin as he lunged forwards, aiming the baton for her head, which she easily diverted with her spinning yoyo.
"I see," she said with a pout, jumping and kicking him in the chest while in the process of backflipping and landing on her feet. "I just felt like those heroes in the movies. That was awesome." Chat Noir scoffed before swinging punches at her.

"Aw kitty, are you going easy on me?" she asked with a grin as she dodged the punches.
"Y'know, can you loosen up a little? I've got plans tonight," he grumbled before finally landing a hit on her.
"And what? You think I stay here all night every night? I have plans too, shithead," Ladybug cried, clicking her neck.
"That's a new one," he remarked, tightening the buckles keeping his gloves on his hands. "How about we postpone this battle, because my plans are too important to ruin my handsome face?" he suggested with a grin, leaning forwards.
"Your handsome face deserves to be smacked," she answered, rolling her eyes. "And I can agree to those terms, but remember you sought me out."
"You waited for me," he reminded her, placing his baton on his waist.
"You... ugh!" she groaned, blushing intensely as she realised she had no comeback for the villain. "Are you sure ShadowMoth will agree to you leaving a battle on your own accord?"
"ShadowMoth doesn't dictate my life," he snapped, standing up straight.
"Mkay," she said, sounding unconvinced as she prepared her yoyo to swing away.
