A man with ash grey skin was revealed, the man had several red stripes running across his body and a long brown beard. The man had a solemn look on him while gazing at the tree. This is Kratos also known as the God of War, a god that was betrayed by Zeus.
Kratos kneeled down before the tree and put his hand on the tree near the hand marking. He then rested his head against the tree and closed his eyes as though he was in pain. Kratos then rises and takes a step back and started cutting down the tree. He swung once with a small amount of force causing, he swung again with more force while grunting, again with a bit more force and a louder grunt. Another swing and another, until he grew frustrated, bellowed a roar and swung one final time with great force causing the tree to tumble over.
Kratos hung his axe on his back, and made to grab the tree trunk, however before he could do that the bandage on his arm loosend a little bit. He looks at it and takes a deep breth as to calm himself. He then starts to tighten the bandage once more. Only for a boy to approach him, Kratos turned his back to the boy as to hide his bandage.
"Found some" The boy said, holding a plant.
The boy must have been around 8 - 10 years old, with short brown hair and blue eyes. He must have known some battle as he had a few scars on his face. Kratos did not respond to him, the boy clearily curious tried to get a glimpse of what Kratos was hiding.
"Get in the boat, boy." Kratos said with a gruff voice.
The boy clearily dissapointed, sighed and ran off towards the boat. Kratos then turned his attention back to the trunk and easily lifted it up to his shoulder and carried it off towards boat, the boy was there waiting for him.
"Still want me to tie it to the boat?"
Kratos does not immedialty answer him instead he puts down the trunk by the boat and then throws a rope to the child.
"Boy."
Kratos attached a hook to the tree trunk, the hook connected to the rope that he had tossed to the boy. He then pushed the trunk into the river, and turned towards the boy who was tying the rope to the end of the boat.
"That is enough" He said when he was satisfied. The boy nodded and moved to the front of the boat, Kratos moved to sit down at the back of the boat, as he sat down, he grabbed a paddle and started to paddle.
"Father?" The boy asked.
"What?"
"Did something change?" The boy said while looking around at the surrounding woods.
"The forest feels different now." He continued.
Kratos seemed to briefly contemplate his words.
"Everything is different, boy." Kratos responded. "Try not to dwell on it."
Kratos had finally reached his destination as the boat docked.
He rose and started to drag the trunk by the the rope, at the same time the boy started untying the rope.
It was perfectly timed, for by the time Kratos had finished with his task so had the boy. He then once again effortlessly lifted up the trunk and moved further inland along the grassy dirt road, the boy moved ahed a bit.
