"...a Tiffany ring"
I watched as Mosope mouth a "IS THERE A PROBLEM?" at me before walking towards me after I signaled that there wasn't any.
"Yes, ma'am?," she adjusted her skirt behind like I did in secondary school as she threw a smile at the Queen of England before finally landing her fresh whites on me.
"Can we order a botte of wine?"
"Oh! Of course ma," I could tell from the shock on her face at the mention of wine that she hadn't seen that one coming. Poor girl. "Or...I could just pick it up down the street at the drugstore."
"Wineexpress is better. Everything that the drugstore has will have nothing but mediocrity written all over it." Stephanie Orgaji said with her eyes glued to her phone. "Here!" She pointed her phone screen at Mosope, "Ask if they have a bottle of this, ask for a lot of ice too."
I watched as Mosope squinted her eyes at the phone screen and how Stephanie flinched a bit when Sope tried to reach for Stephanie's bedazzled iPhone. "I'll just...zoom it in for you, here!"
"Oh, now I see it." Mosope smiled at her and nodded at me. "I'll ask."
"Nice ring you've got there by the way, is that from the unreleased Tiffany collection?" I watched Stephanie gaze tiredly at Mosope's finger and I almost burst out in laughter at the idea of Mosope and Tiffany in the same sentence until I heard Mosope nod and stretch her hand for Stephanie to access the ring. "Oh! That's beautiful, must cost a million or so,"
"That's what he said," Mosope smiled, took her hands from Stephanie who surprisingly didn't have a problem being in close contact with her anymore.
'wait a minute, could I have been wrong? Is Mosope actually walking around with a Tiffany ring?'
"I'll go get your wine now," Mosope withdrew her finger and blushed as Stephanie's eyes lurked covetously at the ring.
"Oh yes! That." Stephanie threw her a smile and I suddenly felt uncomfortable at how nicely she treated my staff more than she treated me.
"I'll have something from Eve After Dark, as well," I called at Mosope and she smiled and nodded before disappearing out of my office.
"That's a very lucky girl, you know that ring isn't even out yet?" Stephanie leaned in to whisper, except she wasn't whispering at all.
"Really? I thought it was a knockoff." I sat up and cleared my throat.
"Of course you did." Stephanie gave me a quick size down before sighing loudly at my ignorance. I felt stupid but I threw her a bright smile in return.
"So, can we commence with the sessions whilst we await the wine?"
"How old is she?"
"What?"
"Your receptionist girl, how old is she?"
I couldn't hide the questioning expression from my face and I didn't feel sorry that she caught it either.
"Oh, I'm just curious because she looks so so young, or don't you think?"
"She's old enough to be engaged, that's all I know."
"Hmm," Stephanie nodded to herself and looked from where Mosope had stood to the door.
"Did you also get married at a young age?" I asked.
"I'm just 27 and I like to think that I'm still young thank you very much." She threw me a death glare.
"My bad."
