"So, what is it?", Ghost grumbled, still obviously very discontent with how things had been abruptly cut off. His arms were folded, and his posture was upright, as loomed over Soap.
You stood there slightly embarrassed after what you had almost been caught doing with Ghost. You even avoided direct eye contact with Soap.
"Well, L.T., ...Captain Price has informed us that Shepherd's gone rogue."
Your eyes widened as you perked up, as you were all of a sudden very interested in this conversation.
You had met General Shepherd before, he was an older man, shady, but trustworthy enough to get a job done. Apart from briefly being introduced, you'd never had a proper conversation with him. Obviously, he wasn't as good a man as you had thought.
"What?", Ghost growled, shifting his feet a bit.
Soap nodded his head, "Laswell told Price, and Price immediately told me ta' gather everyone."
You stepped closer to the door, as you suddenly connected the dots. "Shit", you muttered. You spoke up, "Then does that mean those American soldiers-"
"Were Shepherds' doing.", Ghost finished for you, as he dragged a hand down his mask, clearly very annoyed at the current situation.
You stepped even closer to Soap and Ghost, completely tossing everything that had happened beforehand out the window.
Ghost crossed his arms once more, "Not too surprised", his accent was heavy as he spoke. "Just gives me anotha' target."
Soap stepped aside, as Ghosts' and your boots thumped against the flooring of your room and out into the hallway.
Quickly, the three of you made your way to the main Meeting room.
Once inside, all of the currently present 141 members on base were already there. Which in actuality, wasn't many.
At the front of the room was Captain Price, standing still as he watched the three of you come in. He had more of a pissed off expression on his face. To the left of him was Laswell, who held a clipboard and had a table in front of her with a military laptop placed on top of it.
You, Soap, and Ghost, made your way to the back of the room.
You chose a seat right next to the windows, which showed the dreary landscape outside, riddled with darkness as stars speckled the sky.
Ghost stood in between you and Soap, who had taken a seat next to you, his arms were folded as he cocked his head to the side, curious as to what Price was going to say.
"Nice of you three to join us. Now," Price motioned to Laswell, "I'm sure you've all heard already. Shepherds gone rogue. He escaped somewhere up North in Russia, exactly where, however, we're still unsure."
He placed his hands onto the speaking podium in front him, which was branded with 141's signature logo.
"We'll be sending several small teams to Russia in order to keep an eye out and report on any suspicious activity. Our informants will be working directly alongside those of you that are chosen."
Price goes on to explain in further detail, and eventually calls out teams.
There's only three, each containing 2-3 members.
You happen to be one of the members chosen to go on the mission. As per the recent usual, you were teamed with Ghost and Soap.
"For those of you heading out on the mission tomorrow, head back to your quarters and get some rest. You'll fly out immediately in the morning at 5 sharp."
