    Interview with LeonAidSalvacion

Me: Good day! I'm Faith ❣️.
I'm a writer on Wattpad. I am working on having interviews with authors of different genres and compiling the interviews into a book.
I am requesting to interview you for the K-pop section of the book.
It would be superb if I could ask you a couple of questions.
I hope to receive your reply in due time.
Cheers!

Writer Aid: Hello, dear! It's writer Aid and I'd like to express my gratitude for the said opportunity. I'm very much interested also in doing said Interview with you!

Me: Thank you!
What made you start to write K-pop fanfics?

Writer Aid:
In my barest self,I am an artist struggling in a world of stability. People often hear of my mind and abilities that relate to profit far before they witness my creativity. This reality is one I am continuously combatting as an advocate for the humanities and arts.
With this,I cannot turn away from the fact that I have stripped my originality for income. Some of my poems, songs and other works are sold for money and not out of passion. And so,I decided I wanted to strike a balance. Feature my artistic decisions in a platform that enabled free publishing, but did not compromise my intellectual copyrights. And so I fell in love with the blatant ignorance many have for fanfiction.
There are many avenues for fanfiction,I am a reader and musician myself so there were many ways to go about it all. But I chose music because the entertainment industry is an overated but misinterpreted informal institution of society. And as someone who dives in behind the scenes and at front stage,I believed I could provide a unique perspective to it all.

Me:
I assume that for you to be able to create characters and go in line with the events, you have to patiently and diligently watch and observe the kpop groups you write about correct?

Writer Aid:
This is correct! If I have to reference a video,I watch it twice as a whole then per scene,I take around five rewinds before considering the direction my character would weave into it all.

Me:
In line with the previous question. How do you balance school, work and writing?

Writer Aid:
It is difficult. My avid readers would notice that for this year,2022,my presence has been lacking. As much as I love to dedicate more of myself as Wattpad writer,I cannot because it does not give me the credits I need for a job or the income. And so,I put school and work first. But in the lapses of rest I have in between schedules,I write. Sometimes they are for personal writing, other times for my job- related ones, and others for free platforms such as this.
Balance is not equal time. It is devising your schedule that best fits you at the moment. Maybe in a week or so,I'll put more hold on Wattpad than another goal. And it's okay for my priorities to change in rank and order often because if it makes me function, and the time gives me a reason to be proud of myself, the that's the balance I aspire to have.

Me:
  One fun fact about yourself.

Writer Aid:
I try to take the spotlight everywhere u can, it's the stereotypical Leo in me. I am a musician,a writer,a public speaker,an athlete, and many more related hobbies that paint myself to be diverse. And a possible conversation topic at every party.

Me:
A good storyline without a good character is not really worthwhile and vice versa.
Do you believe this?

Writer Aid:
I don't anymore. I used to though. In literary fiction, some categorize novels as plot- driven, character - centered or both. And in each of these categories, there are brilliant and thought- provoking books. And so,I believe it has more so to do with the purpose of the written work.
If you wish for character development, maybe the events matter less. If you aim for narration, then truly the scenes matter.

Me:
I've read most of your books on Wattpad. I love the way you intertwine your characters into the book. I love Leon and Ash and all the others. If a person who knows nothing about Kpop reads your books, they're most likely to believe that you're writing about all the members. How do you do it?

Writer Aid:
Thank you for the compliment,it truly warms my heart! I find comfort in all my characters,in a way I've scattered pieces of myself and rebuilt them in many different forms.
Some of my manifestations became the beloved characters. And I guess that's my advice for those who wish to do the same.
Writing requires you to bleed your soul. And if you desire fleshed out people, you have to sacrifice many pieces of yourself.
In a way, when one writes, they'll see their deepest vulnerabilities and what - ifs. It's scary but it allows people who don't even know your real name to connect.
Once again,I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity you gave me with your questions. It was refreshing and one that motivates me to continue writing in Wattpad.

Much love,Aid

Me: Thank you so much for your answers! Wow. I'm feeling quite inspired.

Reading this interview warms my heart and I hope it touches someone.
Writer Aid has quite a library of books. I do not have a favorite so I'm recommending all his books.

Enjoy!
