Chapter 1

Amara

Panting trying to catch my breath as I furiously run after the person who just hijacked my purse from me. No one paying any attention I focus on only him and not my surroundings I don't pay attention to the couple I'm about to bump into. Hitting a strong built shoulder really hard as I rush past I fall on the ground not wasting anytime getting back up. "I'm so sorry" I yell as I start running again I take a deep breath and quicken my pace letting my athletic side out. Suddenly I plant my feet on the ground and quickly take a huge leap jumping on the theif.

"Give me my purse asshole" I struggled with him both of us on the ground me trying to loosen his grip and grab it. Determined to win the battle I bite down on his hand knee him in the groins making him let go of my purse completely and double over on the ground in pain. "Serves you right for stealing, in public at that" I walk away proud of myself and head to my destination where I was going before the chaos happened. To my awful job.

I've been working at a corporate company ran by one of the sons of the most wealthiest man alive, John Heighns. He had three sons who were inheriting his fortune each of them brought up along with their own companies. From Calvin, Luke, and Oliver I happened to work for Luke and he's great from what I can tell. He gets along with the staff and his other employees just fine and his humor is to die for like almost literally.

He'd say one joke and have everyone in fits of laughter some on the floor not being able to withstand his comedy. He was also good looking for his height which I'd estimate to be about 5'7 fairly with blonde almost brown hair, dark blue eyes and a good body shape. He was very fit which told everyone or at least myself he worked out well. Anyways as I walked inside the building I caught a glimpse of our receptionist Maryanne talking to the head chief of our architectural staff. It looked as if they were deep in a conversation and it must have been important for them to not notice me walk in. "Hey Beth, Maryanne have you guys seen Luke around I asked. Shaking their heads  I turned to walk away.

"Hey Mar you know he's probably busy since he and his brothers hosting a meeting and you know we haven't seen those two I can't wait!" Exclaimed Maryanne as her eyes lit up. "That's what we were just talking about they all have something going on and every woman here is just dying to get a sight of all three together" Beth nodded in agreement.

I sighed walking to the elevator and pressing the top floor where my bosses office was located. "What a day in paradise it would be" I mumbled to myself watching as the elevator went floor by floor there were twelve and it was at 10 stopping and opening just for me to see one of my favorite male coworker Kyle. "Oh hell no you didn't" he said as he stood at the entrance hand on his hip. I smiled laughing and tucking a strand of curly hair behind my head folding in laughter with my briefcase and purse clutched in my arm.

Kyle was my very feminine bisexual friend and I loved every bit of him to death he's literally the only person in here that could make me do some really out of the ordinary things. "You look gorgeous girly" he said getting on. "Thanks Ky up to see the big boss?" I asked. Nodding he smiled and flipped his long black hair "How do I look?" I made a serious face and acting as if I was inspecting him as he stood with brown khakis and a button up black shirt. Suddenly we both bursted out in a fit of laughter not remembering that we were already one floor from our boss and as the elevator dinged we were still cackling like maniacs. Wiping the tears from my eyes I opened them to see a very handsome man in front of me making me clear my throat and straighten my poster putting on my professional mode.

"My apologies" I told the gentleman as I exited pulling Kyle along with me and striding over to my bosses desk where I found him with an amused expression. "Goodmorning Kyle how are you?" I asked my boss who also happened to be one of my close friends which is why he lets me address him like that inside and outside of the office. "Now that you ask I think I'd say better now that you're here" he said chuckling at the end. Smiling I gestured to the seat in front of me "May I?" He nodded "Of course now what can I do for you?"

"So have you decided who's going to be helping you and your brothers design the event for tomorrow evening?" I asked taking a moment to think he shook his head making me frown a little  "you do know that it's less than a day away and we still have catering and who's all going to be the special guests?" Nodding he smiled "how about you do it I mean you are my PA after all and I do trust you and your intellect" he said making me sit back in shock and think it over

"I'll be done with everything by tonight and I assure you everything will be to your liking as well as the guests arriving" I said getting up and grabbing my purse "Keep the briefcase it contains the deal between Miss.Claude and yourself" I mentioned making my way out before the elevator door closed I make a comment on his appearance "I think you might want to try learning how to do your ties correctly Luke" "GODDAMNIT" I heard him whisper yell as I went down back to the lobby where I found Kyle waiting for me.

"All done?" He asked I nodded my head and we went about our way to my home so I could start mapping out this party and plan this event right.
