Chapter 2

Calvin

I couldn't get Sam out of my hair quick enough ever since last week she's been driving me insane. I caught her cheating with one of my former male employees and she's been apologizing and then guilt tripping and trying to blame me for what she did. I thought she was better than that. When I first met her she was so much different from now and it's like my money has been getting to her head.

On my way to my brothers work place I had to meet up with him and she insisted on going so I let her but now I really regret it. After a girl bumped into the both of us she's been nagging about how she ruined her hair or hurt her shoulder just complaining as if I'd wanted to hear that. Wait a second that girl in the office. That was the same girl that was in the elevator I couldn't help but take in some of her features as I saw her laugh. I must have gotten there before her because I traveled in my car.

Anyways as I left the building I saw Samantha was still inside the car so I got in and drove off. I see her fiddling with her phone "Who's that?" I ask "No one" she quickly says and puts it away. I'm not very possessive of her so I leave it at that and drive back to my mansion. As I pull in I am greeted by my security guards and nodded acknowledging their presence.

"Good afternoon Mr.Heighns" I was soon greeted by my head maid Meredith as she showed her sign of respect when I walked by "Afternoon Mer how's everyone been?" I asked. She smiled and gestured to the busy maids and butlers "Surely you would know since we have to prepare for your guest arriving tonight" yes my younger brother was coming to visit and what kind of sibling would I be if I didn't offer him to stay here?

Putting my belongings up I asked Meredith to have some of the cooks prepare a dinner and went into my office to make some phone calls. Suddenly not even a few minutes after I got situated Sam walked in. She looked serious and if I didn't know her better I'd say she was going to ask for more money but that wasn't it. "I need to talk to you Calvin" she said taking a seat I nodded showing her I was listening and she continued "I know we've been together for a while and recently we have discussed about having kids but with what happened previously..."

She paused guilt showing on her face for her infidelity and kept talking "With what happened previously that is a big step for both of us and I visited the doctor for a checkup" she smiled sadly making my face turn into pure confusion. What was she talking about and why was it important she had to interrupt me during my office hours. "I can't have any children" she said very fast. It took a while to process but my face turned into stone and mumbled for her to make her way out. "Calvin aren-" "I said exit NOW" raising my voice letting her know I wanted to be alone.

First her cheating on me and now I have to hear my father's mouth about not being able to produce a heir for myself. Sighing I rubbed my hands on my face leaning back. A few minutes later the bell to my gate rang and I looked on the camera to see Oliver had shown up. Buzzing him in a took a deep breath and went to greet him.

As I walked to the door it swung open and my brother as well as his wife Victoria and child Addison walked in chatting away "Well if it isn't my little brother" I said opening my arms embracing him roughly as we usually do. He smiled and joined in. I gave my sister in law a peck on the cheek and bent down to wrap my niece in a bear hug as she giggled playfully. "UNCLE VIN!" she laughed as I spun her around giving her small pecks on her forehead and cheeks.

As I held her in my arms I couldn't help but feel saddened I couldn't have children of my own with the information my own wife told me which made me want to hold onto Addy longer but I didn't want my brother to see me at a weak point. Not when he was just coming in town for our get together. "So how have you and Sam been?" Victoria asked I shook my head sadly and mentioned that she was actually here right now and I'd tell them later so I showed them to their rooms instead.

As the girls got settled in my brother dragged me to a corner and grabbed my shoulders. "Brother don't lie to me I know something is up now tell me how have you been?" He asked. I looked down "I caught Sam cheating on me less than two weeks ago and just found out today she can't have any kids" I said. He looked at me deep in his thoughts "You know I don't think this will phase you as much as you think it will but things will get better maybe she's not meant for you bro."

I glared at him "I'm already fucking married to her man I don't think we have the same bond as we used to and I don't even have the time to try and make a miracle happen" I admitted. He shrugged his shoulders and dragged me back into the room. I wasn't bothered by his bluntness and harsh words because I myself believed he was right. "I have the cooks making dinner by the time you all get done unpacking and getting settled in it should be ready" I notified them all before making my exit.
