8. Truth

It was the 3rd day after the day my 15 days countdown started. Theseus was just being the same that he was from day 1- the arrogant and evil jerk of a Prince. Sometimes he'll annoy me like a high school bully and other times he would scare the fuck out of me by becoming dangerously dominating within a second.

I only went out for having food and that too with him.....and to add to my annoyance, that bastard only ate twice a day. Just two meals! Freak!

Yes, we slept on the very same bed. He wouldn't move an inch closer to me or try to do anything of that sort. Probably I really was a trash for him. And I was glad about it coz the last thing I wanted was to be touched by him. Coz I knew.......that I would like it. And I didn't want that.

Cassie was sitting with me on the bed playing a card game that I didn't know and was trying to understand.

'My lady! Do I have the permission to come in?' someone said from outside. I looked at Cassie with confusion and she gave permission on my behalf. A man entered, his posture like a soldier. He bowed and said 'My lady.....His Majesty expects you in the throne room.'

There was no point of arguing. I got up and began moving towards the door when he spoke up. 'My Lady I must say that you look splendid always but His Majesty has specifically ordered you to wear something much more splendid.'

I could not believe how much more rude Ionian men can get? He just fucking told me that my dress was not good enough?!

'Assholes.' I muttered while he went out, giving me time to change.

'What have you made me wear?!' I muttered to Cassie while trying to cover my leg which was showing off from the slit of my gown. The dress was beautiful without any doubt. But not appropriate for the situation.

The doors of the throne room opened and Cassie had to literally push me to get inside

The doors of the throne room opened and Cassie had to literally push me to get inside. I walked inside and to my horror they closed the doors behind me.

I looked ahead and found Theseus sitting powerfully on his throne. Theseus was not like those creepy male lead characters of erotica who always wore no emotions. He either had a fake smile on his face, an evil and dangerous smirk or anger that can melt anyone with fear. But right at that moment, as he gazed at me, his face held no emotions.

His lips sealed. His pupil visibly dilated. And then an impossible thought crossed my mind- Was I looking that beau-

'You look like a sea horse!' he mocked me and reality dawned on me badly. He was Theseus after all.

He got up to his full height and descended the stairs, his cape flowing elegantly with his movement. Looking in by ocean-blue eyes with his light blue ones and holding out a hand for me, he said 'Dance with me.'

I scoffed and replied 'Not even in your dreams.' The next moment our lower bodies collided with each other, his one arm around my waist and my one hand on his shoulder while both our other hands united.

'I didn't ask, Gorgeous.' he replied with a sinister smirk on his face. And then we began dancing.

A dance without music, without any reason and celebration. Sounds boring right? But it was not. It was cautious, adrenalin-rushing and perhaps dangerous too. Anything but boring. Not even once his eyes left mine.

'Dance without music?' I asked calmly in a low whisper.

'Though it's still fine but if you really wish.........I can make the water sing for you.' he replied and I knew........I knew that he didn't know how romantic it sounded. I knew that because if he would have known then he won't have probably said those lines at first place.

Few moments later, a sound was coming from outside the glass walls. Though I didn't get it first but then I realized that indeed..........water was singing for me.

A smile came upon my lips, unknown to eyes that were gazing at them. But then it dropped and I said in a low tone 'Why are you doing this?'

He didn't answer for a long time. But then he said seriously 'You are the only normal company, I've had in years, Gemma.'

'Before you, for a long time, there were only savage beasts from the deep.' we had stopped dancing by then but still stood in the same position.

'So?' I asked.

'So I want you to have good time........' he left me and backed away a little '..........since we won't see each other after 12 days.' he completed and I gulped. I had almost forgotten, that this man right here........was going to execute me after 12 days.

I nodded slowly and began walking towards the door.

'Why don't I see any denial?' his voice stopped me. I turned and gave him a confused look. 'What?' I asked.

He walked a little closer to me, narrowing his eyes he asked 'You are accepting death so calmly. Why?'

I thought for sometime on his question. But the answer was simple and I gave him that.

'Because I am tired of denying that my existence was no mistake. And also because there is no saving from you, Theseus. You are destined to perish each and everything to lay eyes on, with your gaze. And unfortunately, you laid those beautiful eyes of yours on me.'

He didn't seem surprised by my statement and neither was I. Perhaps because we both knew that it was the truth.
