Information is vital

The island was quite big, but it had only one base. It was your average villain base: everything was black, lots of technology and the symbol of the organization was printed on everything.

'Why are villain bases so unoriginal, I mean would it kill them to do some things different from time to time?' Wally asked the rest through the mind link.

'Can't you even be serious for one moment? We're on an important are mission and you're thinking about interior design.' Artemis said (thought).

She and Wally always argued with each other but she really wasn't in the mood for their usual bickering. Although she would never admit it, she felt nervous, sick and she loathed the fact that Nightwing was kidnapped because of her. Nightwing might've been just a mission for the others but she felt as if she owed him something, after al he had saved her and her friends multiple times. He had also saved her mother from her father, if he hadn't been on time Artemis wouldn't have a mother and home to go back to.

Both Megan and Wally noticed the sour mood Artemis, Megan because she was an empath and Wally because well, he and Artemis were close and when you're as close to someone as they were then you of course knew how they felt.

But instead of pressing on the matter they let it be, knowing full well that Artemis would deny it and it was just going to be embarrassing and awkward for her.

'Megan, can you feel any sign of human life?' Kaldur asked.

'Yes, but it's hard to see who it is. It seems that this person is in a room with titanium walls. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I'm just so exhausted that trying to read people's mind through thick walls is harder.' Megan explained.

'It's alright Megan, we'll so who it is when we get there and kick their ass.' Conner said. He was so frustrated so he needed a way to release it, he personally found beating bad guys up was the best stress release ever.

'Always so violent, can't we just talk first?' Wally asked sarcastically, if he couldn't annoy Artemis, he would annoy Conner. After all they both had anger issues. Maybe they should ask Canary to do an anger management class for them.

It didn't take them long until they arrived at the room their mystery person was residing, but before they could enter, they received a message on their comms from Oracle.

'Are you guys making any progress? The others have taken out the clone, but it seems that the LIGHT has left some assassin robots on the island.'

'Just great, team Batman is already done with their part of the plan and we haven't even started yet. I'm sure that little brat Robin will call us mean names again.' Wally whined.

Kaldur just shot him an unamused look to silence him and he sent Oracle a message back.

'that's good news, we are just about to enter a room were a living person is residing'

'Ok, when you're done go back to the helicopter, the rest will be waiting for you there'

'Understood, Aqualad out.'

'You don't have to send that, ugh never mind...'

'Okay team let's enter with caution.' Aqualad ordered.

He was the first one to step inside the room, but to his surprise no one was there. Soon they were all standing in a presumably empty room.

"Just great it seems like the mystery has left already." Wally said, but as he made his move to walk out of the room the door was shut right in front of him.

"Wow, it's so cruel of you to presume I've left already." They heard a voice say mockingly.

Artemis felt her throat grow dry; she'd recognize this voice in any situation. "Shouldn't you be with your little friends Chesire?" She asked her older sister.

"No, they aren't any fun any way, beside tormenting Deathstroke is much more fun." She continued speaking.

"Torment Deathstroke?" Wally asked confused, aren't they partners.

"Yeah, believe me when I say he's a nightmare to work with. Anyway, let me tell you where he's taking the big birdy to." She spoke.

"There is no way you're going to give us this piece of information, what in it for you?" Artemis asked weary of her sister.

"Can't a big sister do something nice for her little sister from time to time?" Chesire asked but all she received was a glare.

"Okay okay, like I said it would break Deathstroke's heart if his apprentice would be taken from him again and that means bad news for him and good for me. So just believe me when I say that he's holding Nightwing on Antarctica between American and Russian territory. No government is allowed there because it's private territory, so it's a perfect base." Chesire explained.

"Okay guys we have to tell the others about this and see if Chesire is speaking the truth." Kaldur said, and soon after he left the room running towards the helicopter platform.

"Bye, bye sissy." Chesire said to Artemis as she disappeared in the shadows just like the Chesire cat.

It didn't take long before they arrived at the platform, where the family was already waiting for them.

"Have you succeeded in your mission or have you guys just been wandering around while we did all the hard work." Robin taunted them, although there was less heat behind it than normal.

Before Kid could make a snarky remark, Kaldur cut him off.

"We know were Deathstroke has taken Nightwing."
