Welcome to a new How To / Writing Advice story!

I originally developed this presentation in tandem with my "Words for Writers" article series, (for which I am still accepting questions), as I get a lot of questions about this particular topic as a genre writer.

I've spent the last two years converting my in-person workshop on worldbuilding and fictional cultures into a workbook, so that no matter where you are, you can have access to the information!

There are three ways to access the final result:

-The paperback version features lots of space for you to write directly in the book, and a thorough explanation of what culture and worldbuilding are, and how they influence one another and work together to help you write a rich, believable world (jmfrey . net / books)

-The original presentation PDF, which features a slimmed down version of the presentation and question list, for those who just want to dive right into the worldbuilding with less explanation (jmfrey . net / 2020 / 09 / downloadable - guide - worldbuilding - through - culture )

- And here, on Wattpad! Now, unfortunately because of the nature of Wattpad, you can't copy the text so you can keep the questions, but I've included all of the explanations, and the full question list in this story. So if you want to follow along here, you'll need your own notebook to keep track of your answers.

Chapters will be released once a week, which will give you lots of time to ponder the new information, come up with answers to the questions, and read any supplementary material I may suggest. And don't be afraid to leave questions in your comments - I'd be happy to expand on anything you need clarification on.

I look forward to creating wonderful new worlds with you!
