Friday I'm In Love

Chapter 6

Jana had found herself knocking at Rocky’s door. She realised she hadn’t thought this through when Claudio answered the door. No words were exchanged, instead, Claudio nodded in the direction of Rocky’s bedroom and walked off. “Jana are you okay? Oh my God what’s wrong?!” Rocky asked as he began to embrace her. Jana couldn’t even speak, she just melted into his arms. After she had finally calmed down, they sat on Rocky’s bed. “Jana are you going to tell me what happened? I’m really worried about you.” “I... Everything’s just wrong. Can I stay here tonight?” Jana really didn’t have anywhere else to go so she was hoping that Rocky would say yes. “Of course you can” Rocky said with a calming smile, making her remember why she fell in love with him.

The next morning Jana woke up to a cup of coffee with three sugars and plenty of milk, just the way she liked it. She felt guilty about how sweet Rocky was being and she knew that she had to tell him the truth. “Hey you” he said with a cheerful voice. “Rocky... Your dad, he’s my dad” They were both shocked and how bluntly she said it but it had to be done. “You mean, my dad who isn’t actually my real dad is YOUR dad?!” Rocky did what he was best at, storming off and slamming his bedroom door behind him. “Rocco Montague I’m trying to enjoy my Saturday, why on earth are you making so much noise?!” Claudio shouted at Rocky, which really wasn’t going to help the situation. “You’re unbelievable. And by the way my name’s ROCKY!” Jana came running down the stairs after Rocky but he was already gone. Claudio glared at Jana: “Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on?” Jana glared back at Claudio and said “I just told him that you’re my dad, he was quite pissed off considering you’re not his.” Jana did the same as Rocky as stormed out, almost breaking the door. 

Claudio was as shocked as Rocky was and immediately went round to Caterina’s house. He banged on the door repetitively until she answered and didn’t even give her a chance to say hello before he shouted “HOW  COULD YOU NOT TELL ME THAT SHE’S MY DAUGHTER?!” The look in Claudio’s eyes was scaring Caterina and she tried her best to calm him down. “We weren’t even together, I didn’t think you’d care.” There was nothing that she could say to make the situation better and anything she was saying was just making it a whole lot worse. “She’s my daughter, we have a daughter together. How could you keep her a secret from me for 17 years?” Claudio wanted answers but Caterina wasn’t going to let him act like a victim. “Excuse me but you cheated on me, you broke my heart! The day I caught you cheating, I was coming to tell you that I was pregnant but you didn’t deserve to know and you still don’t.” “I only cheated on you because you were being distant, I thought you were going to break up with me!” Claudio had really angered Caterina now and she couldn’t help but raise her voice. “I was distant because I was 18 and pregnant and I was scared but that didn’t give you the right to sleep with the first girl that you saw! I didn’t want you ruining my daughter’s life like you ruined mine so I left. Now get out of my house you son of a bitch!” There was a long pause before Claudio said calmly: “We were only teenagers, I made a mistake and I lost you because of that mistake. Caterina I have thought about you every single day since then and I’ve never stopped loving you but you should have told me about Jana. You could have told me when you moved back here. I would never hurt her and I would never hurt you again.” Caterina didn’t know how to react and for a moment she saw a glimpse of the 18 year old boy that she was once in love with.
