Journal:

Today's a good day. First off, I haven't forgotten to water my crops. It's nice to see the little sprouts grow a little each day, and the routine really helps me get up in the morning, so I can't complain. It's good exercise.

More importantly, today is a good day because I know what I'm going to do! The world of Fae collecting is still very new to me, but I have an idea that just might work. It came to me as I was falling asleep last night.

But first, to take care of the food situation.

Let's see what I've got lying around in the house. Inventory check, please.

House:

Small bed

Basic alchemy set

Basic wood carving set

Beginner's spellbook

Kitchen

Broom

Shop: What would you like to buy?

Hi. Can I sell things here?

Shop: Yes, at lowest market value

Great! How much for these?

Shop:

Basic alchemy set - 10 coins

Basic wood carving set - 10 coins

Beginner's spellbook - 10 coins

Broom - 1 coin

Alright. Well, how much for rations?

Shop:

1 Ration - 5 coins

12 Rations - 48 coins

Oof! Well, that'll have to be my backup plan then.

Map: Where would you like to go?

The, um... that one! The Scattered woods, please.

Map: Scattered woods - 3.5 km due Northeast

Journal:

Well, I still haven't quite solved the food situation, but at least I have a backup plan. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, or I've got a pretty hard choice to make. We'll see how things play out. I might've done things differently if I'd taken a look around the house before rushing off to spend all my coins. Ah... but no point dwelling on the past.

On the bright side, I now have my very first Fae! I made the trip out to the Scattered woods today, but I couldn't venture very deep. It would be all too easy to lose myself in those woods, so I didn't take any chances.

But not bad for my first time out. I managed to catch myself a.... Scatterpillar!

Why a Scatterpillar? Well, it's all according to my master plan, and that's all I'll say for now. I'm excited to see if it works out, but until then, I want to focus on getting the little guy adjusted to his new home. I got the Fae pen all set up in the yard, and put the little critter in there. He was asleep by the time I went in.

I think I'll take his lead and go to bed myself. What an exhausting day. I can't wait for the next one!

Rations remaining: 2

End.
