A few minutes after their talking turned to silence, just letting them sit in their thoughts for a moment, Amelia returned to their room, taking Maya up for a CT scan.

Maya was very hesitant to leave the room, not wanting to be away from Carina's side. The brunette could easily tell that she was nervous based on the tight grip she had on her hand.

But with Carina's persuasion, she managed to convince Maya to get the CT done, claiming that it would only take a few minutes and she would be back in no time.

Carina also had to have a nurse stay in the room with her per Maya's request of not wanting Carina to be alone.

The blonde still worries that something will happen to Carina while she's out of her sight, and it terrifies her.

Although Carina doesn't love the idea of having a nurse stay in their room to keep watch of her, she will honestly do everything in her power to make sure Maya's comfortable. Or as comfortable as she can be, given the circumstances.

When Maya returned back to the room, her hand soon found its place back in Carina's as the brunette whispered Italian melodies for Maya to fall asleep to, which she did pretty easily since her body is extremely tired from her surgery.

However, as Carina was about to fall into a deep sleep herself, eyes already closed, Maya woke up with a wince, catching Carina's attention.

She cracked open her eyes, looking at her wife to get a better view of the situation.

Maya had gone white, besides the splotches of red skin from the hives scattered around her body.

And before Carina could process what was happening, Maya gagged, throwing a hand over her mouth just in time for Carina to place a bin under her chin.

Maya took the bin from Carina, giving her the free hand to rub soothing circles on Maya's back, trying to calm her down in any way she knew how.

"Let it out. I'm here. You're okay," Carina whispers, Maya continuing to vomit into the bin.

Carina reaches over, pressing the nurses button, her face presenting a frown over the sight of her poor wife in front of her.

"Carina," Maya cries in between shaky breaths from being sick. She keeps her head in the bin, not wanting to chance lifting her head only to feel sick again.

Maya being uncharacteristically vulnerable ever since the accident is something that still makes Carina feel uneasy.

It's like a stab to the heart every time her wife cries out her name.

It physically hurts because that's not Maya. At least, not Maya on a regular basis. Sure, if she got sick or if she was having an off day, Maya would snuggle up to her, wanting that physical connection.

But Maya hardly ever allows herself to cry. Not without putting up a fight first.

"I'm right here," Carina repeats. "Are you just nauseous, or is it something else?" She asks, knowing Link said that nausea could be a side effect from her allergic reaction to the anesthetic.

Maya musters a nod, closing her eyes as she fights any bouts of nausea that comes her way, all while dealing with the fiery pain from her broken ribs due to all the movement and uneven breaths.

"Okay, we will get you something to help. Just relax, bambina," Carina declares softly, keeping up with the motion on her back, pressing the nurses button as well.

Nurse Carter comes through the door, seeing the scene in front of her, already assuming what Maya needs.

"I see we need some zofran," Nurse Carter observes and Carina nods, although, her eyes never leave Maya's figure.
