I stare at my oh-so-perfect reflection in my full-length mirror. Long skinny body, sun-kissed brown hair down to my ass, bright blue eyes. Perfect. Pouty pink lips, rose-tinted cheeks, long dark lashes. Perfect. New 7 For All Mankind cigarette jeans, white silk Theory blouse, Brian Atwood booties. Perfect.
I’d like to see Max resist this.
This is going to be too easy.
I give myself a final once-over before heading out to my baby. Victoria hasn’t even called for me yet; I’m leaving early in order to enact my plan.
It’s simple, really. I’ve done it thousands of times, and it always works. I have no doubt this time will be any different. And then I’ll get what I want: Max.
I pull into the parking lot. I’m one of the first ones here, which is not something I’m proud of. I remind myself that the end justifies the means in this situation. Getting what I want is worth arriving early for just a day.
I head to Max’s locker, trying not to sneer too much at the passing girls in hoodies and sweatpants. Have they no self-respect? Or mirrors, for that matter?
I pull my phone out of my Gucci bag. It was an apology gift from my parents for having to travel for work over Thanksgiving. I was pretty satisfied with the tradeoff.
The minutes pass quickly, and before I know it I see Max rounding the corner at the end of the hall. I quickly grab a slip of paper from my bag and pretend to shove it through the slots of his locker.
“Um, what are you doing?” Max asks as he approaches me. I jump and spin around to face him, letting my jaw drop and horror cross my face.
“Max!” I exclaim. “I was just...err...uh...alright, you caught me.”
I bite my lip, pretending to be nervous.
“It’s just,” I continue, dropping my gaze to the floor then looking back at his eyes. Those perfect, blue eyes. “I think you’re really cute. I wanted to give you my number.”
I smile sweetly at him, while still trying to hold onto the innocent, cute girl bit. This gets them every time. These guys think they’re big shots, trying to seduce the ‘virgin.’ Little do they know, the ‘virgin’ is about to flip the tables on them...
“Uh, well that’s very nice of you,” Max comments, looking incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. He scratches the back of his neck nervously. “But I have a, uh, a girlfriend. Already. So, uh, thanks but no thanks.”
I try to hide my shock. What? Is he deaf? Blind, maybe?
He tries to step past me to get to his locker, but I don’t budge. I run my fingers lightly up his arm, moving quickly to the backup plan that I’ve had for years, but have never actually had to use.
“You know,” I say, dropping the innocent school girl bit completely. I half-smirk and look up at him through my lashes. This is fool-proof. I lower my voice so that I have to lean up for him to be able to hear me. “Alexis doesn’t have to know.”
He steps back and shoots me down again, more forcefully this time. “No! No, I’m in a relationship already. I don’t even know you!”
I quickly wipe the instinctive challenging look from my face. A smirk spreads across my face.
“Oh, but you will.” Before he can react, I quickly lean forward and press my lips to his cheek. Max takes a second to pull back, which I take as a good thing.
I turn and walk away, purposefully swaying my hips with each step. I don’t let it show on my face how discouraged and confused I am. That has never, ever not worked before. I am irresistible. I have never needed a second plan of attack before.
I know it’s not me, though. Max must be more attached to Alexis than I thought at first. Oh well, it’s a bit of a roadblock but nothing impossible to overcome. Besides, it might be fun to have to mix things up a little. You’d be surprised how quickly you can get bored when there’s no chase involved.
But this time, everything will be different. And I am going to enjoy every last second of stealing Max right out of that b*tch’s bed.
***Hey guys! So it's been forever since I've even thought about updating this story, so sorry if it's a bit rough! I had to switch into b*tch mode!
I had a lot of people commenting on the first chapter asking for an update, so here it is! Hope you like it! And thanks so much for all your support! :) :) ***
