I wrote Fallen Ash during a period of unemployment during which I effectively sat down at my computer every day and wrote during the periods I would have otherwise been working. I have plans to come back to it roughly six months from the finish date to go over it with fresh eyes and make some edits, but it is more-or-less completed, and I have moved on to its sequel, Scattered Ash. I used to write stories about Ash when I was a kid and imagined her in a kind of episodic television show, so these are basically standalone stories with a recurring cast lol.
Please enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing!
September 28th, 2023 Edit:
So, it's almost been a year! If you're a new reader, you will be reading the final draft, in theory, but not much has changed apart from me fixing the occasional typos. I really like how this novel ended up in its raw form and I don't want to change it too much. It feels youthful and optimistic until it isn't anymore, and I think that more or less represents what I wanted to do with Ash.
I've also added some headers, which were made by saradika on Tumblr.
I believe in drawing a hard line when you decide it's time to finish editing, even on a platform like this. I'm a perfectionist and it sucks. So I'm done. I will continue writing about Ash, Heather and Seth, of course, but I will not be making any further edits to this installment. Please enjoy and let me know what you thought!
