The D-Tribe: The Singing Tournament

Chapter 5: The Auditions

The next day, the Daniels family spent the morning doing their usual routine. They had woken up at 6:30am. Breakfast was eaten at 7am. The online Sunday Service in the Commissionary Fellowship of Jesus Christ (or CFJC for short) usually started at 9am. So while waiting for the service to start, the Daniels took their time to bathe themselves. One at a time. Starting with Rhea, then Ralpha, then Diona, then last, but certainly not least, Ray.

After they bathe themselves, the Daniels were dressed in different outfits. Rhea was wearing a black tank top with white skirt. This skirt laid up until the middle of her knees. As for her footwear, she had black sandals with golden studs on the straps of her sandals.

Diona was wearing white shirt with black jeans, matching belt and matching boots. Ralpha was wearing white polo shirt with two stripes on the upper part. One was wide and it happened to be navy blue while another one was a bit thin and it happened to be aquamarine. He also wore dark blue denim pants, brown belt and gray loafers.

As for Ray, he was wearing white polo shirt with dark blue denim pants. His footwear happened to be white sneakers.

After watching the whole Sunday Service, Diona cooked lunch for herself and the rest of the Daniels family. This time, they were eating Pork Sinigang. You couldn't miss the joyful look on Diona's face after her cooking is finished. The Daniels said their prayers together before they started eating.

After lunch, the Daniels took turns to brush their teeth. It started with Ray, then Diona, then Ralpha, then Rhea being the last.

After they brushed their teeth and prepared their instruments, song lyrics and the written melody, the Daniels were now ready to go to Paramount Theater.

When they arrived, flashing lights passed through the second door after the Daniels entered. Upon seeing this, the first response came from Ralpha.

"Um, what was that?"

"I guess it came from one of the auditioners," Rhea responded questionably.

Ray, with his guitar bag wrapped around his shoulder, took about thirteen steps forward in the direction of the door. Footsteps were heard behind him. He could assume the rest of his family was following him behind. His hand reached for the door and when he pushed it opened, his eyes reverted away from what he saw.

Flashing lights of pink and blue appeared before them. Onstage, it seemed like two people were auditioning or the Singing Tournament.

It's the same with Diona, Ralpha and Rhea, whose hands covered their eyes. Those eyes also reverted away from the light.

The Daniels entered the auditorium with their hands still covering their eyes. But their feet stopped in tracks as they were encountered with a person's back. Right in front of them. The Daniels peeked over to the left. A lot of people were in one row. From a few steps after entering the second door to the right side of the stage.

In the end, words of rejection were heard from some kind of judge. From what the Daniels could tell, they might assume it was the voice of the manager. Lights were out, but the lights were in a normal level. Good enough for the people to have comfort in the theater. The two people who auditioned, exited the stage in disappointment.

Audition after audition. It was not just the manager's voice whom the Daniels had heard, but another voice also joined in. This voice almost sounded like an intellectual voice. Something like a male version of Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. Half of them were rejected while the other half were accepted and got through the audition.

Soon after, it was the D-Tribe's turn to audition.

The Daniels walked their way onstage with a few employees of Paramount Theater helping them setting the stage with the instruments they had. Right in front of them, they could see not only the manager, but a young man, sitting beside him on the left. This young man had fair skin with straight hair. His outfit was a white men's shirt with black coat, matching pants and matching leather shoes. He also wore glasses. The manager had the exact same outfit as the young man.
