THIRD-PERSON POV

Y/n laid on the floor and stared at the stone ceiling. They've been here for about a week now, everything's been..fine, but, it could be worse. I mean, they get fed, and that's good. They heard footsteps walking towards their cell. They sat up and stretched, knowing it'll probably be the golden guard, like always.

"Here's your lunch human." He slid the plate in, he was hesitant to leave, but soon walked away from the cell. Y/n saw this to be a bit odd but didn't care and grabbed the food he brought. It was the same thing but it was food. They ate it rather quick. They slid the plate under the cell so whoever came by could deal with it. They walked to the end of the cell where their bed was, they stretched and laid down on the bed. Looking up at the ceiling once more. They glanced at the window, it had gotten dark. They yawned and turned in their bed. Might aswell sleep, it was late-ish. They closed their eyes and tried to find a comfortable spot on the hard mattress. Soon they had fallen asleep.

In the throne room (?)

Hunter was standing near emperor Belos as he was finishing up his 'dutys' for the day. Once he did, he snapped his fingers at Hunter, he knew what he had to get. He rushed to grab a palismen and gave it to Belos. He crushed it and absorbed its life (?). He exhaled and threw the now bits of wood on the floor.

"Now, back to talking about the new humans here." He spoke, looking towards hunter, the eyes through his mask still were glowing a bright blue, then calming down back into the black souless ones. "How'd they get here is the main question.." He had mumbled something else but it wasn't clear to hunter. Belos walked behind him and sat down on his throne. "Maybe this has something to do with the owl lady, wouldn't doubt it at this point. You may put in your input if you'd like. Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a wall." Hunter stayed silent for a moment. Thinking of what to say and not to waste the emperor's time.

"I find this human intriguing."

"Which one? The one we have? I don't see much in that one. What do you see in them that's so 'intriguing'?"

"Uhm well.." He thinks for a moment and doesn't really know why he does. "I'm not sure.." No matter how much he thought he had no idea why they were so fascinating to him. Belos stayed quiet and thought to himself for a while and then got up.

"It's getting late..you should go back to your sleeping quarters." He said as he walks away. Hunter nodded and walked out of the room. He walked down the hall and into his room, he opened his door and quietly closed it. He yawned and laid down on the bed. Y/n hadn't left his mind. He had no idea why this was happening. He knew this wasn't normal, he's never thought of the enemy this much. He shook it off, getting up and taking off his cape and changing into more comfortable clothes. He then took a small detour to his window to look outside. The dark night glazed over the isles. While the light from the moon lit it up. It was nice, not being able to worry about anything else for the rest of the day. He loved this about his workflow. He yawned again and thought he'd admired the outside enough for today. He went back to his bed to lay down. Only for him to not sleep, Y/n was still on his mind. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't fall asleep. He sighed. He hasn't been able to sleep in forever. Does it have something to do with Y/n? Is it some kind of human curse? He didn't know. But he had an urge to always see them. He didn't know exactly why he just did.

***

After hours of staring up at the ceiling trying to sleep it never came. He got up from bed and looked outside. It was still pretty dark. He walked out of his room. He creeped across the castle untill he reached the place he's been urging to go to for whatever reason. He tried to open the door quietly and walked in. He keeped the door cracked since closing it would make a loud noise. And would wake a lot of people up. So he'd do that after he left. He walked slowly; not wanting to make any noise, toward Y/n's cell. Once he approached their cell, he relaxed...? He didn't understand this at all. He shook it off and keeped looking at them. His face started to get flustered. He felt his face, it was hot. He thought it was time to go he hestently left the room. He had his hand on the handle. He had about 1 minute before guards came down to check out what the noise was, maybe even 30 seconds. He exhaled and closed the door, he tried to keep it quiet but it still echoed throughout the castle. He rushed back to his room, hiding from any guard opening their door and looking around to see if the nosie happened near them. But then they went back in their room. Thinking it was just them. He soon entered his room and quickly laid in bed. His heart was racing. He claimed down and caught his breath.

...

..

.

30 minutes went by...and no one's up, no lights are on or anything. Hunter sighed in relief. He didn't want people coming in his room saying that should 'all' check it out. He got comfortable in his bed, this time he felt tired. So he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
