It was 5:55pm and I was waiting for Jacob to come and pick me up. I was slightly nervous since I hadn't spent much time with him at all.Just as I was about to check myself in the mirror again, a honk sounded from outside.
I ran over to my window and peeled out, seeing Jacob's car waiting in my driveway. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs, and out to his car.
"You look hot", he said as I slid into the passenger seat.
"Uh thanks", I said. Fuck. That sounded stupid. Why did I say that?
He gave me a smile before pulling out of my driveway and going in the direction of the cinema.

After Jacob had parked in the cinema parking lot, we headed inside and strolled over to the ticket booth.
"Two tickets for Love Actually please", Jacob said to the man working the ticket booth before turning to grin at me. "You girls always love romcoms", he told me with a laugh.
Love Actually? I hated romcoms. They were too unrealistic.
"No problem! Is that paying in cash or card?", the man at the ticket booth asked.
"Card please", Jacob replied as he paid and got our tickets before we started to head towards our screen.

The movie was shit.
Jacob seemed to enjoy it but me? I almost fell asleep.
"I had lots of fun tonight", Jacob said as we sat in a booth at the local diner. We had just ordered food from the waitress, who had been giving Jacob eyes since we walked in.
"Yeah it has been nice", I lied. Truthfully, I couldn't wait to get home and crawl into bed.
"So Tilly, what's going on with you and Matt? I'm curious to know", Jacob asked me, raising an eyebrow.
"Matthew and I? Ha! There's nothing going on. We used to be best friends until he dropped me like a sack of shit freshman year.", I responded with a shrug.
"But you two seem to have some sort of...connection.", he continued.
I shook my head. "Any connection I have with Matthew is one fuelled by hatred and disgust. You seriously don't have to worry about him. He's not even in the picture", I laughed.
Before Jacob could reply, the waitress bought our food over. She set down the food in front of us, a Hot Dog for Jacob and a chicken burger for me.
Jacob saw my food and smirked. "Didn't think a girl like you would be able to eat like that. Where does all of it go?", he asked boldly.
Is he for real? A girl like me? What the fuck.
I shrugged as I bit into my burger, "I dance.", I said, not bothering with a full explanation.
We didn't talk much for the rest of the meal as we ate. Jacob payed and we left soon after.
