I felt bad lying to Nick about what happened, but I couldn't exactly tell him that Matt kissed me.

Pushing it to the back of my mind as I pulled through the gates into the student parking lot, I parked in my usual spot and got out, heading to my locker with Madi.

"You seem quiet today, you good?", she asked quietly.

I nodded in response, murmuring that I was fine as I took stuff out of my locker.

At lunch, we sat at our usual table but I didn't say a word the entire time, staring intently at the can of coke, not wanting to look up and make eye contact with Matt who sat across from me.

"Hey Tilly! Can I talk to you?", I heard Jacob say from beside me.

"Sure", was all I said as I got up and walked out of the cafeteria and out into the hallway, Jacob following behind me.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to go on another date? I really enjoyed the first one", he said, looking down at me intently.

Oh. Oh. Well this is awkward.

It's not that I don't like Jacob, he's a nice guy. It's just I don't think there is any form of connection there.

His kiss didn't feel the same as Matt's.

Shaking my head in an attempt to clear the stupid thoughts from my head, I looked up at him.

"Well umm Jacob in the nicest way possible I don't really like you like that. Im really sorry if I led you to believe otherwise but Im not really looking for a relationship at the moment.", I replied, trying to let him down lightly.

A flash of anger passed through his gaze before he schooled his features and nodded slowly. "Yeah that's cool don't worry about it", he said bluntly before walking away from me in the opposite direction of the cafeteria.
