Sunshine (A Solby Fanfic)

Chapter 4

Sam's POV:

The gang and I were at our table and we were shocked as Colby got splashed with milk. As soon as Colby ran out, the gang and I got up, threw away our lunches, and ran after him. "I can't believe Hazel did that," Tara said. "Trust me, she was more bitchier when we dated," I told them. "Where do you guys think he could be?" Corey asked us. "Probably under the bleachers," Elton suggested.

Once we were outside, we then heard sniffles coming from the bleachers. We then got to the bleachers to see Colby crying as he was soaking wet while hugging his knees. "Colby?" I called out to him. Colby looked up and his eyes were red and puffy from crying.

I then walked up to him and opened up my arms. Colby got up and wrapped his arms around me as he hugged me. The others were shocked by my actions since I'm not one to give out hugs. Suddenly we heard voices coming from the field. "Who is it?" I asked. "It's Luke," Jake replied. "Oh, there he is," Luke said as he smirked at me and Colby.

"What do you want Luke?" I snapped at him. "Just wanted to play with my favorite loser," he grinned. "Get lost!" I growled. "Whatever you say Gaybach," Luke taunted. As soon as Luke left, I looked to see Colby clutching onto me with his head in my chest. "Do you want to go back?" I asked him. He instantly shook his head against my chest. "Do you want to go home?" I asked once again. He then nodded his head.

I then carried him bridal style as he let out a small squeak while he rested his head on my chest. "Uh.." Jake said as he and the others were shocked by what I was doing. "Come on let's go," I told them as I rolled my eyes at them. We then went and got our stuff and made our way toward Colby's house.

Third Person POV:

Once they got to Colby's house, Colby went up to his room to shower and change clothes. Sam and the gang had the idea of convincing Colby to skip school with them and just have a group fun day.

Colby's POV:

Once I was showered and changed into my Koala onesie, I then made my way downstairs. As soon as I got downstairs, everyone cooed at my onesie. "Nice onesie," Sam said as he winked at me. I then began to blush as I fiddled with my sleeves. "Hey Colby, the guys and I were thinking if it's possible for you to skip school tomorrow so we can have a group fun day?" Sam asked me.

"I-I don't know I have to ask my mom," I replied. "Well, why don't we give you our numbers so we can add you to the chat?" Elton suggested. I nodded my head as I took out my phone and gave it to them. Once we were done swapping numbers, I was right away added to the chat.

"D-Do you guys want to watch Netflix?" I asked them while fiddling with my fingers. "Sure," Sam said as the rest nodded their heads. We ended up watching The Office as everyone sat on the sofa. Jake and Tara were on the left side, Corey and Devyn were in the middle leaving me and Sam on the right side. Elton ended up sitting on a love sac that I brought from my room. During the fifth episode, Sam wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to him. I then slightly blushed as I rested my head on his chest.

We were on episode fifteen when I remembered I had to make dinner for me and my mom. "Oh no!" I said as I bolted out of Sam's comfy embrace. "What's wrong?" Sam asked me. "I have to go make dinner for me and my mom," I replied as I made my way toward the kitchen.

"You know how to cook?" Devyn asked me. "Yeah, my dad and I used to cook together," I replied. "Was your dad a stay-at-home dad?" Tara asked me. "Oh no, he was an award-winning author. He would work and do a bit of chores. My mom, though, works as a nurse," I replied as I tried to reach for a box of spaghetti. "Here you go," Sam said as he grabbed the box and gave it to me. "Thanks," I said with a soft smile on my face. "What are you making?" Corey asked me. "Spaghetti and meatballs," I replied. "Why don't Dev and I help you?" Tara offered. "O-Oh no I couldn't," I told her. "Don't be ridiculous we would love to help," Devyn replied with a smile on her face. "Well, ok then," I replied. "As for you four," Tara said while pointing to the guys. "Out of the kitchen." "What why?" Sam asked. " 'Cause Dev and I both know you guys won't help," she told him. "Now go on," Devyn said while shooing them away. "Fine," they responded in unison as they left the kitchen.

Thanks to Tara and Devyn's help, I was able to finish making dinner on time. Just then the front door opened, "I'm home." I then made my way to greet my mom. "Hi momma," I greeted as I hugged her. "Hello Colbaby," my mom greeted as she kissed my forehead. "Who's this?" She asked as she saw my friends.

"Momma, these are my friends, Sam, Corey, Devyn, Jake, Tara, and Elton," I introduced while pointing at each of them. "Hello Mrs.Brock," they replied in unison. "Why hello and please call me Lesa," my mom said with a smile on her face. "Momma, Tara, and Devyn helped me make dinner tonight," I informed her. "Why thank you girls but you didn't have to do that," my mom told them. "It was our pleasure Lesa," Devyn replied with a smile on her face. "Well you are all welcome to stay for dinner," my mom said. "Oh we couldn't," Sam said. "Please we insist. Also, the girls and I made enough for everyone," I replied.

After dinner, Sam stayed to help me wash dishes while everyone else went home. "You didn't have to help me," I told him. "But I wanted to, besides I get to hang out with you more," Sam replied as he bop my nose making me slightly blush. After Sam help me he then hugged me goodbye and left home. I then decided to ask my mom about tomorrow.

"Hey momma, can I have a mental day off from school tomorrow?" I asked her. "Is everything ok at school?" she asked me. I really didn't want to worry her like how I did in my old school. "Yeah, everything is fine," I lied to her. "I just feel stressed out from all the assignments, that's all." My mom thought about it for a moment. "Ok fine but only if you promise to continue to get good grades while getting your work done on time," my mom told me. "Thank you, momma and I will," I replied while hugging her.

I then went upstairs, did my homework, and got myself ready for bed. I also texted the chat about what happened and that I was able to hang with them tomorrow. They were beyond thrilled about me hanging out with them.

Third Person POV:

The next day Colby and the gang went to the mall and hung out at Dave and Buster's. They all had a blast. Afterward, they went to the food court for lunch where they all got their own food. After lunch, they went shopping. Devyn and Tara went about their way along with Jake and Corey. While Sam, Colby, and Elton went to Hot Topic.

Sam and Elton were looking around for some band tees while Colby looked to see if there was something that interested him. While he was looking, he accidentally bumped into someone. "O-Oh I'm sorry," Colby apologized. "No problem, cute thing," a guy who was in his late twenties replied as he eyed up and down Colby's body. Colby soon felt uncomfortable and decided to go find Sam and Elton. But before he could leave, the man grabbed his wrist. "Why are you leaving so soon, cute thing?" he asked.
