Chapter 10

Colby's POV:

The next day, Sam and I woke up and got changed. Sam let me borrow some of his clothes while he got changed in the bathroom. Once we got changed, we brush our teeth and hair and ate some breakfast that Mrs.Golbach made for us. Afterward, we grabbed our phones and bags and drove to school.

Once we got to school, everyone kept staring at us mostly because I was wearing Sam's clothes. Once Sam went to his locker, I went to mine. I was getting my things for first-period when I was aggressively shoved to the floor. I look up to see Luke and his friends. They laughed as Luke punched me in the face.

My eyes instantly filled with tears as I fearfully looked at him. "What's wrong loser, cat got your tongue?" Luke laughed as he socked me in the mouth. "Aren't you going to fight back?" Luke taunted. I didn't say anything as I felt blood coming from my mouth. "Pathetic!" Luke scoffed. I then shut my eyes tight as Luke raised his fist about to punch me again. However, instead of feeling pain, I heard a few grunts followed by a few thuds.

I then opened my eyes to see Luke and his friends on the floor as Elton, Corey, and Jake were towering over them. "Don't you dare mess with our friend!" Elton snapped. " 'Cause if you mess with him you mess with us!" Corey added. "So you might as well leave while you can!" Jake said.

I then snapped myself as I was lifted up onto my feet. I then realized Devyn and Tara were helping me up. "Whatever, next time you won't be so lucky loser," Luke threatened as he and his friends left. I then softly whimpered in pain and fear.

"Are you ok Colbs?" Elton asked. I shook my head no as I fiddled with the sleeves of Sam's red hoodie. "T-thanks for helping me," I softly said. "Anything for our friend," Corey said. "Hey, guys, what's going on?" I heard Sam ask. As soon as I looked up, his eyes widened as his hands turned to fists. Soon enough everyone else gasped as they saw my face.

Sam's POV:

"What the hell happened?!" I snapped as I saw Colby's face covered in blood. "Sam, I think it's best if you calm down and talk to Colby alone," Elton said. I then nodded my head as I gently grabbed his wrist and led him to the bathroom.

I then sat him on top of the sink as I reached out to get a towel. As I began to clean Colby up, he began to wince in pain. Once I was done, I gently cupped his face. "Baby, please tell me, what happened?" I asked. Colby then took a deep breath as he explained everything to me. I then pecked his lips as I hugged him tightly. "Come on, babe let's get to class," I told him. Colby and I went and grab his stuff and then went to class.

Colby's POV:

Ever since this morning, Sam hasn't left my side. It was now lunchtime and I had just grabbed lunch and was on my way to our table. In order to get to our table, I have to pass by Hazel's table. As I was about to pass by, I didn't notice Hazel sticking out her foot. I was then tripped and I fell down and my face smashed right onto my tray.

"Watch where you're going clumsy!" Hazel cackled. I then sat on my knees as everyone now laughed at me. I then look up to see Hazel towering over me. "Hey clumsy, you seem to have a little something, here let me help," she smirked. I then gasped as my eyes widened as Hazel grabbed her water bottle and poured it all over me. I then got up as everyone was now laughing even harder.

I then grabbed my tray, dumped it out, and ran away. I then grabbed my bag from my locker and ran all the way home. Once I got home, I showered and got changed into my Koala onesie. I then lay in bed and curled myself up into a ball and bawled my eyes out.

Third Person POV:

What Colby didn't know was that Devyn and Tara saw everything that happened. "Ok that's it," Tara said as she got up. "Tara, what are you doing?" Devyn asked. "I'm going to beat her ass up is what I'm doing," Tara replied.

"Hey, Bitch!" Tara yelled as Hazel turned toward her. "What do you want loser?" Hazel asked as she glared at Tara. "This is for hurting my friend!" Tara snapped as she pounced on Hazel and began to fight her.

At that moment, Sam and the guys walked into the cafeteria and were shocked by what they saw. "Devyn, what is going on?" Sam asked as Devyn turned to look at them. "Hazel was picking on Colby so Tara is now 'beating her ass'," Devyn explained. "Where's Colby?" Sam asked her. "He ran away," she replied. "Ok, Jake, grab Tara," Sam told him. Jake nodded his head as he grabbed her and brought her toward them while Emma and Ava took Hazel with them. "You're going to pay for this!" Hazel threatened as she left with her friends.

"You guys stay here, I'm going to go find Colby," Sam told them as he ran out. Sam then grabbed his bag and drove directly to Colby's house. Due to the feeling in the pit of his stomach, Sam immediately called Mrs.Brock and asked her to talk to him. Sam just hoped and prayed that Colby didn't do anything stupid.
