Vision

"Kunikuzushi, do you like the flower crown I made for you?" his mother giggled while putting the flower crown on his head.

Scaramouche gasped in surprise upon receiving her action. He laughed while nodding his head. Even though this gift held little significance to it, it meant the world to him. The person who created him accepts him. It all felt surreal. Almost as if it was too good to be true.

Opening his eyes to the world around him, he blinked in bewilderment. So all of that was just a dream? 

"Did...did you do that?" he enquired, looking at the person next to him with despondency in his eyes. 

"Yes, I did that. I just wanted you to have a dream about her, to cheer you up!" she assured, giving him the faintest smile.

"The traveler told me everything too after bringing you back here... I'm not going to execute you after all that you have done. Like I said, I believe in giving people second chance. This vision also holds a similar meaning to my belief. But first I want you to tell me personally, why is it that you despise human emotions so much?" Nahida continued.

He did not like the idea of sharing his thoughts with other people. Mainly because they would feel human emotions. They would give their opinions regarding their feelings on the matter. It only served as a hindrance. Just because the traveler allowed him to recognise his own human emotions, doesn't mean he would just give in so easily. 

"No," he answered.

"I beg to differ. The reason is simple. Don't you think that sharing your thoughts with other people can allow you to have a clearer mind?" 

"Fine. Human emotions are nothing but a hindrance. I was made to store the gnosis but because of human emotions, she saw me as a weak thing that was only meant to be abandoned and thrown away. She saw me as a useless thing... she betrayed me," he huffed while wiping the tears that fell from his eyes. "I could have been perfect...Without human emotions, I would not have to experience those other two betrayals." 

"Scaramouche, if the Raiden Shogun saw you as a useless thing, wouldn't she have discarded and killed you a long time ago? "

"That was exactly what she could have done... but she didn't. Instead she chose to abandon me. She chose to leave me all by myself just to face this world. Just for me to witness and experience my own sufferings. She didn't even care for me at all. This is why I despise human emotions."

"I see. While you see human emotions as a hindrance, I, however, see it as a unique thing. Your view on human emotions is superficial. Human emotions are what lets us understand each other better, it also allows us to express ourselves. Your  anemo vision is a sign for a new beginning. Anemo means freedom. Receiving this vision also means that you are no longer attached to the strings of the past. You are no longer just a puppet. Just because you've lost your original purpose doesn't mean that you will never have a new one. You are now a person of your own will" 

"Then... I now know what my new purpose is. To kill my creator... my mother. Don't try to stop me."

With that, the wanderer took off to his next journey, the land of Thunder.

Nahida sighed as she mumbled to herself, "I guess I'll just have to let him go. After all, a bird needs to learn how to spread its wings and fly by itself."
