When Natsu finally got back to the apartment his hair was thoroughly soaked and so was Happy. They sat in the living room and made jokes and laughed as they waited for Lucy to get out of the shower. When she finally did Natsu instantly noticed the scars on her hands, "Lucy! What happened to ya?"
"GET OUT You- oh, Natsu," her voice softened, "Hey Natsu. I'm alright, just dropped a glass earlier."
"Oh, so I guess you're okay now?" He rose from his spot on the couch and held her hands. He kissed them lightly while looking into her eyes. Suddenly a vision of her hair being shorter struck him and he stepped back.
"What's wrong?" Lucy asked.
Natsu shook his head, "Nothing, I'm just tired is all."
"Oh," a frown slid across her lips, "well, do you need me to get you anything?"
"No, I'll just crash here, again," he motioned to the couch, "if that's okay?"
Lucy nodded,"Sure, or if you want the bed I'll sleep here and-"
"No," he cut her off with a quick kiss,"you take the bed."
She grinned at this,"Okay, let me just-"
Suddenly the building shook as thunder pounded from above. At the same time the lights blew out and the door burst open. Natsu quickly unleashed a flame in his palm. Jumping in front of Lucy he shouted, "WHO'S THERE?! IF YOU'RE THE ONE TO CUT OUT THE LIGHTS-"
"Lucy...Natsu..." Gray's voice cracked as he stumbled through the door.
"Oh no!" Lucy ran to the door to help him,"what hap-"
"Natsu- run-" he coughed once and passed out. Lucy realized blood was trickling out of his mouth.
"Oh no! Happy! Go get Wendy!"
"Aye sir!" Happy flew out of the room with determination scrawled onto his face.
"Gray.." Natsu wondered aloud.
"Help me get him on my bed," Lucy commanded through gritted teeth.
Natsu leapt across the room and supported Gray, "C'mon buddy."
They set him on the bed and Natsu lit some candles. Lucy was in the kitchen getting what little medical supplies she had. "Who did this to you Gray?"
Gray didn't move.
