Natsu and Lucy ran back and forth from the kitchen to her bedroom grabbing ice for Gray's wounds. The irony wasn't lost on either of them as Gray developed a fever.
"I guess you could say he's pretty hot huh Luce?" Natsu attempted to make her smile. Instead she blushed madly. "Uh... Huh huh... Yeah..."
Before Natsu could even question the blush creeping up her cheeks the door burst open with Wendy, soaked and out of breath and Carla in tow.
"What's wrong?" She demanded as soon as she had the breath.
"It's Gray-" Lucy started.
"We think he was attacked and if he dies I'm gonna make whoever killed him wish they'd never been-"
"Okay...Natsu, Lucy...I'm going to need both of you to leave the room.
Natsu nodded and backed out, with some urging from Carla. Before even saying anything else to her Lucy nodded as well and headed for the door, "Good luck, Wendy. And if there's anything I can do to help, let me know," she said softly.
"Oh... Well..." Wendy looked at Gray's chest, where the wounds were deepest, "Actually I am going to need you to do me one little favor..." She smiled sheepishly.
"Oh?"
"Yeah... I need you to... Takeoffhisshirt."
"Oh!" Lucy's eyes widened," Uh... Sure thing!" She took a moment to consider how exactly she was going to get it off. She bent down and spoke to him softly," Gray... If you can hear me at all, it's Lucy. You've been injured, badly, and the only way to clean up your wounds is to remove your shirt. So uh... Don't get any ideas, okay?"
Gray didn't move. Lucy took a deep breath and lifted the end of his shirt.
"This isn't going to work," Carla pointed out, "allow me..."
Before they knew what was happening Carla had slipped between Wendy and Lucy, claws sheathed. In a split second she'd cleanly sliced his shirt in half. "No point in trying to salvage a bloody shirt," she frowned matter-of-factly.
"Oh.. Sorry I'm not much help," Lucy sighed.
"It's okay," Wendy promised," we'll get him back to good health in no time!" She grinned, determination etched across her features.
"I hope so," Lucy whispered as she left,"I hope so..."
