Unbreakable Bond

The next day, I made sure to wake up early with the rest of the gang at three a.m.. All of them were pretty skilled in weapon use but I just wanted to sharpen them up a bit.

"Okay everyone I know all of you are excellent shooters so we're skipping guns and going straight to swords. Who knows how to actually wield one?" I asked. Josh, Zach, and John all raised their hands. "Okay Zach teach Matthew, John work with Andrew, and I'll spar with Josh."

"Oooo looks like the two love birds are gonna fight," Zach said waggling his eyebrows.

"Oh shut up and get to work," I snapped. The others laughed and got into their groups while I turned to Josh.

"En guarde" Both raising our swords we started to duel. I had to admit that Josh was very good and an worthy opponent. I quickly glanced at the others to see how they were doing but this was an obvious mistake. Josh took the chance to sweep my legs out from under me. I slammed to ground and looked up only to see his sword at my throat. Muttering a curse I glared up at him.

"Care to curse a little louder, Liz,"Josh said smirking. I growled and pushed his sword away. Although he offered a hand to help me I ignored it.

"Time to switch," I called out. After four more switches I had checked up on everyone's sword wielding abilities. We proceeded until lunch time with the rest the weapons just barely finishing on time. We had a quick meal of grilled cheese after which I called everyone to attention.

"In the upcoming battle should I die-

"Don't say that!"

"If I die I will have the chance to give my magic to one of you as last minute ditch effort to keep my magic safe. Andrew I've decided that you'll be the one who will receive it. Your job will be to continue fighting with your life. We can't let him get anymore power.I know you are the best choice. If for whatever reason the powers have to be passed again give them to John. Then Matthew, then Zach and if it should come to this Josh. My decision on this order is based on the welfare of all of yuo. Should you decide to change the order it could seriously hurt all of you that remain living.'

"Stop it! We're all gonna make it out alive" Josh yelled.

"That's what we're all hoping for but I still have to prepare you for the worst. Understand that there is a good chance you could die just by going into battle with me. I am prepared to go alone to save your lives."

"No way! we aren't letting do this alone. You're like sister to us,"John protested.

"I know I can't stop you from helping but please understand this isn't gonna be like a simple gang fight. It's much more dangerous."

"We understand that but to us it doesn't matter. You saved my life and we're prepared to save yours," Zach said. Even though I've always been good with hiding emotions I couldn't hide anything from the gang. A few tears dripped down my face as I realized how much I truly loved these guys. It had been a long time since I 'd felt like I was apart of something.

" You guys I know I sound mushy but I love you so much! I promise we'll come out of this alive. We have to because no one could destroy a group that has such a strong bond" I said shakily smiling.

"Amen," Matthew said solemnly failing to keep a smile off his face. I couldn't help giggling and soon all the others joined in too. After calming down I opened my mouth to speak when another jolt of ice cold pain shot through my body. Once again a man's voice echoed in my head. "What a nice a nice little pep talk. If you don't know already you're only an hour away from your hometown. Meet me at your parent's grave in three hours. A proper place for our fight don't you think"

Releasing my grip on the table I looked up with determination evident in my face.

"He's going to meet us in three hours at my parent's grave. It's time to fight."
