He opened his eyes he didn't know where he was, he sat up and looked at his surroundings taking in the sight of the dilapidated apartment buildings he was sitting in some kind of courtyard.
He slowly stood up extremely confused, he saw garbage littering the ground all around him. Looking down he saw a newspaper he picked it up and read the headline:

He dropped it back to the ground he could tell by the faded words and pictures that it was old.
???: "Metropolis....how did I get here?"
The boy walked to one of the apartment windows and looked at himself in the reflection he had long black hair and golden eyes he was thin and pale.
???: "Who am I?"
The boy touched his face he felt smooth he looked 12 maybe 13. He turned and walked towards one of the alleys near him he could hear the sounds of the city around him cars driving and honking.
But he could hear more than that it sounded like screaming it was distant but he could definitely hear it. He didn't know why but the boy was compelled to find whoever was in danger he briskly walked into the ally the screaming got louder he followed it all the way to a small workshop tucked behind another apartment building on the opposite side of the street. He walked into the workshop he saw damaged and rusted car parts all over the place. He could see who was screaming it was a small ginger kid who was getting beaten by four men.
Thug #1: "This is what happens to nosy little reporters"
Jimmy: "I'm not a reporter..." the men stopped for a second
Jimmy: "Jimmy Olsen, photographer!"

With a flash of a camera the largest of the men was blinded the ginger kid then sucker punched the smallest of the four men, he had turned to run but he was stopped by one of the men who was holding a crowbar. The kid yelled again as the man hit the small of his back with the said crowbar.
Thug#3: "Damn kid take this!" Another of the men swung down a plank of wood hitting the photographer in the back. The ginger was lying on the floor apparently unconscious.
