makenzie's pov
*NEXT STOP STARDEW VALLEY*
I had finally did it, escaped from my city life to my childhood home. I had purchased a tiny house on a farm that had used to be my grandfather's but was sold to a family friend. They were more than happy to sell me a portion of land to live on. I left stardew valley at the beginning of my senior year. It's been 5 years since I've seen this place.
I hope that my old friends still remember me but I wouldn't want to remember me if I were them. Leah is maybe the only person who would want to see me. She was the only one who I kept contact with when I had moved. When I left it took a toll on a few relationships of mine for reasons I hope are completely forgotten. But for now I want to look forward to a bright future.
[The bus stops]
All my boxes are being brought with the moving truck I had hired so I only brought a carry on bag of things I need currently. With moving into a tiny house I don't really need much with me. I put my bag on my shoulder and thank the bus driver and exit the bus. And here I am Stardew Valley. I throw on my headphones and turn on my favorite playlist to listen to on the walk over to my new place. The bus stop isn't far from my childhood home so it doesn't take long to get there. I look around to see how completely changed everything is. But in a good way, my grandfather was very traditional so seeing a new perspective on things really makes a difference.
"Makenzie??"
I look over to the main house to see my god mother Renee. I smile and run on over to see her.
"Renee!! It is so good to see you!!"
She gives me the biggest hug ever, one of the many things I missed about her. Renee was best friend's with my mom since they were kids and was pretty much a second mom to me when I was growing up.
"How are you sweet girl it's been forever since I've last seen you."
"Only five years Renee not forever, I am doing well under the circumstances but I am so grateful to be back here thank you so much again for letting me stay on the property."
She smiles and take me a seat on the porch bench and motions I join her.
"How could I ever say no to my favorite god daughter. And besides with how everything happened so suddenly I am glad to see that you are finally back."
I nod. I look around admiring the view.
"You've guys have done an amazing job on this farm I hope you know that."
Renee married Cameron, Cameron was a worker here on my grandfather's farm and has worked on it since he was able to work. My grandpa kind of took in him in as his own since his parent's had passed away when he was a young boy.
"Speaking of which where is everyone?"
Renee grins with her motherly smile, a thing I am very much glad I will have back in my life.
"Well Cameron is at Pierre's right now selling some crops just harvested and Victoria is over at Sebastian's!"
My heart sinks. I haven't heard that name since that night, nobody in the city knew of anybody from here besides my mother. The only one who knew about what he did the night of my mother's passing was Leah and then of course him once he heard about her passing. He tried reaching out but I never returned any of his emails. I see he has moved on and that Victoria finally got what she wanted. I realize I didn't respond to Renee.
"That's nice Renee. If you don't mind I think I am going to go over to my house if you don't mind. I know I have been mentioning this dream of living in a tiny home for ever now but I am so excited to finally be doing it."
"I know dear ever since you learned about them you wouldn't stop talking about them but it wasn't silly goal to have dear."
" Renee. I am sorry I left you like that when mom died. Homecoming had turned out to be worse than I have imagined and to find out mom was pretty much dead while standing in what I thought would be my favorite dress forever kind of changes things. And people too which I think later tonight I may go out to the saloon to see some friends of mine maybe."
" All is okay pumpkin I promise. Just glad to have you around again."
I give her a comforting acknowledgment that everything will be okay. And I give her one more hug before walking over to my tiny house.
