"Fuck off Sophia!"
Kanina pa nagpipigil ng galit si Gabrielle sa soon to be step-sister niya. Nandito sila ngayon sa Cebu dahil dito nais gawin ng bagong kasintahan ng daddy niya ang nalalapit na kasal ng dalawa.
Of course, hindi siya approve sa kasalang mangyayari. She loves her mother more than anyone in this world. She loves her more than Gerard Alarcon, her father. In fact, she hates him.
She never felt his father's love for her late mother. Bunga lamang siya ng one night stand noong kabataan ng kanyang mga magulang. But her mother loves her father to death. Her grandparents are the only reason why her father married her mother. But her mother said that his father remained loyal and they even became friends.
She was a daddy's girl back then. Although Gerard's busy managing their business, he still attends every activity in her school. She really felt that she have a father during those years. But everything changes when she reached third year high school. Her adviser, Sandy Reyes, is her father's first love and the reason why her father still don't love her mother as his wife. No one can deny Gerard's affection to Sandy.
No one, not even her.
From that moment, Gerard becomes distant. And her mother understood why. Also, at that moment, Gabrielle started to hate her father. Arielle, her mother, told her that they have to let go of her father. They can no longer make him happy. What her mother have done leads to death. And that incident became her nightmare. She never told anyone what really happened. For all they know it is just a plain car accident.
She was devastated. She stopped going to school. She stopped talking to anyone. Her father and her grandparents took her to a psychiatrists but the nightmare remains. She doesn't like anyone meddling with her so she started talking bit by bit.
But a year later after her mother's death, her father started dating Sandy. Pinakilala rin siya dito ng daddy niya. Sandy is very kind. Gabrielle knew that Sandy's kindness is pure. She doesn't act like some spoiled brat at her. Pero everytime na nakikita niyang masaya ang daddy niya sa piling ni Sandy, she felt bad for her mother. She kind of felt how pitiful her mother has been. And the nightmare started to hunt her every time she falls asleep.
And everything went even bad nang makilala niya ang dalawang anak ni Sandy sa una nitong asawa. Terrence, the oldest, and Sophia. They hated her. They hated her mother for being the hindrance sa naudlot na love story ng mommy nila at ni Gerard. But for all she knows, pera lang ang habol ng dalawa kay Gerard, dahil na rin sa con-artist na daddy nila na ngayo'y nagtatago sa batas.
"Bakit Gab? Totoo naman diba, you're 18 and still a 3rd year highschool."
Nagbalik sa kasalukuyan ang diwa ni Gab. Pinapakilala siya ni Sophia sa mga pinsan nito. Umiwas na siya ng makita niyang nagkakatuwaan ito sa garden ng resort na inarkila na daddy niya. Ngunit nahagip parin siya ng mga mata nito. She does'nt want to appear a loser so lumapit na rin sya ng tawagin siya nito kahit alam niyang away lang patutunguhan ng usapan nila.
"So I don't need to be a college student to beat your pea sized brain." Kalmadong sabi niya kay Sophia. Gab never loss control over Sophia. Lagi ito ang nagwawala kapag nasasapawan ni Gab ang mga panlalait nito.
"Woah, you have a nice sister to be, Soph." Aniya ng pinsan nitong lalaki.
"Shut up Clint!" Singhal ni Sophia dito. Galit itong humarap kay Gab. "Oh, really? Pea sized, huh? Then, how about yours? Two big brains? Yeah, I'm right, perhaps you have two brains, bipolar ka diba? That's what your psychiatrist said. Yeah, I know all your misfortunes, Tito told us." Si Gerard ang tito na tinutukoy nito. Nagdilim ang mukha ni Gab sa sinabi ni Sophia. She's not a bipolar. She's just having the difficulty to overcome her nightmares alone. And there is no way to death na sasabihin niya kanino man ang dahilan ng pag-iyak niya gabi-gabi.
"Oh, Sophie, she's gonna cry na." Sabi ng isa pa nitong pinsan sa babae.
"Ooh, I'm waiting for that to happen, Cait." Ani ni Sophia.
"What is going on here?" Napatingin sina Sophia at mga pinsan nito sa nagsalita.
"TERRENCE!" Agad na sigaw ni Clint. "Woah, long time no see. Gwapo na natin ah!" Niyakap nito si Terrence. Agad namang kumalas si Terrence sa yakap nito.
Tawa lamang ang sagot ni Terrence. "There are my beautiful cousins. Hi Cait, Michelle, Lia!"
"Hi kuya Terrence!" Sabay sabay na bati ng tatlo habang humahagikgik.
Nag-umpisa nang maglakad palayo si Gab. If she hates Sophia, doble ang galit niya sa Kuya nito. Well, she knows that the feeling is mutual.
"Where do think you're going, princess?" Napahinto sa paglalakad si Gabrielle. Tumahimik ang magpipinsan. "They must know na masamang magalit si Terrence." Aniya sa isip. Princess. That's what she calls her. She doesn't know why, probably because he sees her as a spoiled rich kid. She hates him for calling her that. Humarap siya, she saw Sophia's smirk.
"It's none of your business, asshole." Gab said. But she instantly regret it ng magdilim ang aura nito. Crap.
