Reader's POV

It's was early morning, and sunlight shone through the curtains falling onto Alexa's face. Her small face contorted in annoyance as dear Mother Nature had proceeded with her most favorable hobby–stirring the princess from her beloved slumber.

As the princess rose from her bed, groggy and all, she was hit with the recollections of the day prior. Her eyes widened with shock; frantically thinking of a way to get herself out of this situation she created. It's not because she felt like she did something wrong, rather it's because she's very well aware of how everyone in the castle behaves towards her.

The people that had served under the imperial family weren't just helpers and servants; they were like family and they always will be. Every single person had a close bond with the royal family, and stood with them through thick and thin.

So if they heard that their darling Princess Alexa had an episode full of tears and the constant slight raging of her powers, well then she could consider herself under house arrest. They wouldn't have just left her to be in such a state without knowing what could happen next, without being sure of her well-being.

Whether she felt touched or slightly scared and annoyed by the overprotective behaviour of those around her, she had to brace herself for what was beyond her bedroom door.

...

Alexa got ready by herself this time without anyone helping her. The only things prepared for her was her bathtub and clothing which comprised of a fluffy rose pink dress with white lily patterns on the top and see-through sleeves.

As she crept out of her bedroom towards the maid's quarters, she hid behind a pillar when she spotted two helpers whispering to each other. Although they were a bit out of earshot range, Alexa could hear what their conversation was about and a sweat dropped as she listened...

"Madam Lydia had asked the helpers assigned to Princess Alexa to be alert, yes? How come?" said one of them, she was short and had curly brown her and green eyes. She adorned a uniform similar to Lydia's, except it was greyish blue in colour.

"Dunno, but word's that the princess had cried nonstop while they were out in the garden. Maybe we should also be alert too, y'know, just in case her highness breaks down again", the other helper chirped up, her being slightly taller than the former, with short raven black hair and amethyst eyes, wearing the same uniform as her co-worker.

The two women stop talking as they looked at the pillar behind them. They heard shuffling and it was most likely Alexa as she started feeling uneasy. The short brunette was scrutinizing with herself whether to check it or not while the taller black haired one decided not further investigate the sound as she already speculated it was indeed the princess.

They both left and Alexa continued her silent journey to the maid's quarters.

Alexa's POV

I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead... How in the world do I explain this to Lydia?! I'M SCREWED, GOD DAMNIT! Maybe she won't question me but what if she does? Ah, shit I'm screwed...!

I was thrown off guard when I bumped into someone along the way to the maid's quarters. Honestly speaking, I wish I could drown whoever the hell was damned enough to stop me in my tracks...but...when I looked up...I went pale...

"L-L-Lydia...! I was coming to see you just now. H-h-how are y-you..?" I said nervously as I tried to act normal and force a smile...then Lydia spoke...her voice was calm but that smile seemed ghostly dangerous...

"How was your rest, your highness."

Ah...so I was correct: I'm screwed. Lydia never addresses me as "your highness", never. Only when there are important events and the other nobles and royals are present...but it's just the two of us...
