Freedom. Adventure. Excitement.

She felt alive. Adrenaline pumped through her veins like gasoline to an engine. Her vocal cords ached while the muscles in her cheeks stung. Her shoulders bounced to the beat thumping through her speakers. From the corner of her eye, her friend shifted in his seat, moving his body like a robot. Grinning, she cheered them on, hollering, "Let's go!"

Her chest rattled with laughter, listening to their off-key notes muddle with the artist singing. Their giggles crackled through the air, drowning in the music. Keeping a steady hand on the steering wheel, she ran her fingers through her hair. The rolled-down windows invited a harsh rush of wind, draping her skin with a jacket of goosebumps.
