She moved the old car with unhurried steps. The harsh crunch of orange and yellow leaves ricochetted against her eardrums. Lazily, her hand gripped the rusted handle, popping the door open. One leg at a time, she entered the vehicle and settled into the faded grey seat with a soft sigh. Unconsciously, her fingers dragged along the tattered steering wheel, displaying years of use. A mixture of cinnamon and spice filled the warm air, reminding her of Christmas vacations at her Grandmother's house during her childhood.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed wrappers and old movie tickets littered the floor of the front seat, raising a smile on her lips. Reaching over, she plucked the thick rectangular paper safely stuck on her speedometer. The white coloring of its surface had a beige tinge and its writing was worn down, barely allowing its words to be read. The ticket was old, but it was valuable to her, just as the car was. They were a reminder of her youth. A time she was the happiest.
